TheTest001 - WIP Preview

"Chosen" is an album which can be felt in various different ways…one could pay attention to its spacey details, or its serious edge, or even its rough touch to the overall mix down, result of my decision to record everything Live, like a weekend's jam session. For me, recording Live gives me the exact print out of that moment, which won't come back, can't be reproduced, and therefore belongs to the past. These moments are essentially "free within certain parameters" which allow pure natural integration between sound designing and imagination.
The artists should always be free to produce their ideas straight out of their deep feelings, introducing to every listener the freedom to discover, or feel, a little bit of the artist's intimacy.
This album was entirely produced Live, during long extensive Jam sessions, where I focused on programing my machines in a way that they could function as a band, using my feelings, and fingers, to tweak the best out of them in order to come up with a story in a musical form.

I'm always seeking new influences and luckily I stumbled upon Pauline Oliveiros with her works on Deep Listening and experimental jam sessions, back in the time at San Francisco Tape Music Center…Pauline inspired me to listen again to what I was doing…with this inspiration I ran a quick experiment only using Mutable Instruments Clouds, a Strymon reverb and a Space Echo, looking for new sound textures and colors…
Long life to Pauline Oliveiros….She was a great artist and a wonderful source of inspiration!!

The power of ignorance

Why is it then "smart"? because, you know, sometimes we manage to set perfect parameters which we give some freedom, allowing something capable of being "intelligent", to decide how to tweak these parameters randomly.... Suddenly you have something like those big strong animals, the ones humans used to use(and abuse) to transport stuff on them, completely out of control, and fully dependent on feeding from your hands, fingers, and ultimately your mind...
