DW Underground - Biography

DW Underground is a hip-hop producer hailing from Malmö, Sweden, known for crafting a distinctive sound rooted in the classic East Coast/Boom Bap tradition. With over two decades of experience, DW began his journey in 2000, honing his skills exclusively on an MPC. This dedication to the craft allowed him to develop a unique style of chopping samples and blending them into a modern yet timeless production aesthetic.

Initially, like many emerging producers, DW focused on creating beats for friends and local collaborators. Over time, his reputation grew, attracting attention from other artists in his area. In 2015, DW made a significant breakthrough, producing for Swedish rapper Adoo Den Fede on their debut EP, Malmø Bullshit, which garnered over 100,000 streams on Spotify. Building on this success, the duo released a full-length follow-up album, Malmø Bullshit Vol. 2, solidifying their partnership and showcasing DW's growing production capabilities.

Since then, DW Underground has collaborated with an array of talented emcees from around the globe, including Taiyamo Denku, Urban Legend, Rambunxious, Smeag Scientist, Thrust OG, K-Prez, LuGhz, The Inglorious Poet, and Soulsaga, among others. His work spans singles, full-length albums, and a variety of other projects. His beats have been featured on Swedish radio, performed at live shows across Sweden, and continue to reach an expanding international audience.

In 2023, DW signed with Twoface Media, further cementing his presence in the hip-hop world. He has since worked with artists such as Space Kase and Pestilence and is currently collaborating with Nate Nasty and I B Bumpin of Lobotomized Geniuses. That same year marked another milestone as he began working on a full album with Scoob Rock and joined the Parkview Projects with Solo for Dolo.

Now living with his family in a quiet village outside Malmö, DW Underground remains as passionate as ever. For him, 2023 wasn’t a new beginning but another exciting chapter in his ongoing journey through hip-hop. With a relentless hunger for the craft and a deep commitment to the culture, DW is ready to take on whatever the future holds.
