For years, these songs have lived quietly in my heart and in the pages of my journals - more than  600 of them. Now, it’s time to share them and let them touch souls beyond my own.

I come from a long line of musicians and storytellers. My people have been singing and songwriting for generations - in the mountains of Appalachia and the suburbs of D.C. We made our own instruments, and family reunions were where we got the band back together.  

I have been writing poetry and songs since I was 13, studied music composition in college - crafting everything from wedding songs to art songs, musical theater pieces to gospel spirituals, pop to children’s music. Over time, those influences blended into the soulful sound you’ll find here - honest songs that live somewhere between the head, heart, body and soul.

For me, playing music and writing songs is as natural as breathing. 'Heartwork' is where those songs finally find their voice - quirky, sexy, soulful, cinematic, and born of love, longing, and connection.
