From a dimly lit cave in Austin's own underground, Joseph Roberts, aka “Detox Unit”, has been cooking up his own blend of futuristic frequencies for the past 4 years. His aim, to make the imagination run wild; to tickle the brain in impossible ways. Originally hailing from New York, Joseph spent his childhood tinkering with old radios and building computers, fascinated bu the near endless possibilities that they presented. Inspired by artists such as Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Monolake, and Luke Vibert, he picked up a copy of Ableton Live and a myriad of synthesizers and hasn't left his cave since. Now 4 years later Detox Unit has become a familiar and loved name in the Austin experimental music scene known for his intricately woven sets and unique productions.

illanthropy released the original mix of ‘So ILLy’ last year with DubNation, which found massive success in the dubstep community. As he has continued to hone his production skill and find further inspiration since then, illanthropy revisited this track to make it bigger, heavier, and more full to take it to the next level for live performances. He’s decided to share it with the world and include this new 2017 Edit on his EP, and we’re very thankful for that. This will be heard all year in bass music sets across the country, because it’s just THAT huge.

1.)	Chasing Ghosts
“Who comin’ with that big sound baby?” We kick off ‘Daycrawler’ with ‘Chasing Ghosts’, which has an extended introduction that sets the emotional tone for the rest of the EP to follow. We feel the familiarity of the nostalgic longing, as we chase something that is long gone and question whether or not it ever actually was. A false build-up tricks us, and it releases into a breakdown consisting of a melody played by some distorted mystery string instrument, really allowing us to soak up the emotion and sit in that space.. if only for a moment. Quickly it builds back up and what comes next is beyond comprehension or expectation. As a way to cut away that emotional tie to the past through sheer energy and intensity, what follows is the heaviest drop you can imagine while still remaining tasteful and cohesive with the rest of the song.
