A conceptual musical interpretation of the healing mantra: 
Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha.

Throughout the 108 chants of this healing mantra, obstacles, discord and conflicts in our lives are represented sonically in the accompanying music. As the 108th chant concludes, the metaphoric conflicting obstacles are removed, and the piece resolves in a pure and clear chord; free of obstacles ~ peaceful and true.

Synthesized sounds: The kick/bass drum, tambourine and bass (a pitch-shifted violin sample) were created with Komplete 8 sound recording software and were performed on an M-Audio Axiom 49 keyboard/controller. These are the only synthesized sounds utilized on this recording. 

Bell: A 2” brass bell begins the piece, emulating the sound of a ghanta.

Vocal: Three separate vocal tracks are blended and mixed together to create what is heard as the vocal track. The main vocal was double tracked, and a third vocal an octave above the other two is present, but much lower in the mix. The vocal performance is 108 chants, without duplication or copying of any of the recorded performances. Other than industry standard compression, delay and light chorus effects, there are no other effects, vocal processing, or synthesized vocals.

Guitars: All other sounds on this piece were created with Fender Stratocaster guitars and a Mesa Electradyne tube amplifier with a Mesa 2-12’’ speaker cabinet. There are three separate guitar tracks from the beginning of the piece through the end of the 108 chants. Guitar tracks include guitar/amplifier feedback effects as they occurred naturally and randomly. The resolving chord at the conclusion of the piece was created with individual guitar/amplifier feedback notes, with each note being separately performed and recorded, then blended together to form the chord.
