Doche is the artist name of Hugo Doche, a multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ from Belo Horizonte, an hour's flight north of Rio De Janiero in Brazil. Doche is a graduate of the LA Music Academy. His debut release for us was his version of the Donna Summer classic "Bad Girls". On that, his guitar and bass skills, combined with a brilliant vocal from Seattle's Kria McKenzie, delivered the shimmering Purple Disco style delight. His second release, "Million Dollar Bill", recreates the Whitney Houston anthem. This song has been done recently in a house style, but with Doche's disco production and Phebe Edwards' supreme re-interpretation of the song, we think this update has the legs to last as long in the Nu Disco charts as "Bad Girls" (still there, five months after its release!). It's another classy party tune.

Milan-based DJ & producer Skylin3 is one of our favourite new artists. His version of this Beyonce classic dropped at the end of last year, and DJs loved it. From the underground tech (Miane, Alan Nieves, Jamie Jones) to the house heads (Erik Hagleton, Sam Supplier, CASSIMM) to those more used to big-stage bangers (Torren Foot, Wenzday, Shiba San), there was an outpouring of love. The wider DJ community might have slept on this one, so we asked Kevin McKay to deliver a VIP edit to see if this could get the ball rolling. He's jacked up the beats and added a powerful FM mid-bass to jet-propel the groove—proper peak-time business.

California-born and New Jersey-raised, Nasser Baker was discovered as a young artist by influential producer Dennis Ferrer, who signed Baker to his revered Objektivity label. The move resulted in several critically acclaimed EPs, putting the New Jersey talent on the maps of house music’s finest thanks to his broad and eclectic sound, holding a maturity well beyond its years as a result of analogue techniques combined with modern house sensibilities.
