After the success with their 'Savannah' release on nu-depth last year, we welcome back the UK Trance duo of Andrew Candid & John Dopping. This time they hit us with the bass driven 'Polarise' just in time for the summer.

This time round the guys go for a more slower and chunkier approach with progressive elements and grinding bassline. The vocal teases in and out of the track perfectly giving a soothing sound, they really have hit top form here with this track.

The Dopping Shift has a similar vibe to the original, here John gives the breakdown a different take with a more plucky melody and stand out vocal pads to give this a more heavenly sound.

Next up is an artist who needs no introduction. Discover and Perfecto Fluoro resident Thomas Datt hammers home a fine interpretation with some solid production sounds he is well known for. Superb stuff from Mr Datt!

Label owner Danny Powers returns at last after seeing previous work released on the Discover labels. Here he cranks up the bpm and gives 'Polarise' a more uplifting and driving sound.

Dropping a monster of a track on his debut on nu-depth recordings is Northern Ireland's Mark Burton. 'Understatement' has already been causing a stir on the trance circuit after being picked up by Armin Van Buuren and featuring on his Universal Religion 6 compilation.

The Vandit regular really does go to town with the original mix, as this a full blooded euphoric affair with an exceptional melody and absolutely banging groove thanks to the tight sitting bassline. Mark is really starting to curve his sound within the trance community and this track is bang on the money.

Paul Pearson is a resident for Digital Society, one of the biggest trance nights in the UK. He has only recently started dipping his toes into production and after this progressive trance version, you will certainly be hoping for a lot more. One for the future!

Label boss Danny Powers goes right for the jugular with his version; this is a slab of hard as nails tech-trance while still keeping the original vibe of the melody for the break down, before unleashing into an acid frenzy. You have been warned!

The journey started for myself back in the summer of 1998, my first encounter of proper trance music was coming across the Gatecrasher Black Compilation, the rest as they say ‘is history’. This led me onto buying the next two in the series and really kicked my trance passion into gear. Listening to this style of music while I was 15 seemed weird as it was a break from the chart trash flying around at that time. I instantly got hooked on those riffs, how could an instrumental based form of music get me so hooked?!

My first club experience was the good ol’ Mezzaine in Wolverhampton, hearing the likes of Flat 6’s ‘It’s too late’ on a loud system for the first time was something I wasn’t going to forget as a young clubber. Next up was regular visits to Godskitchen at the newly opened venue Air, then Gatecrasher events at the NEC. This then led onto a passion for my first favourite DJ, this being the Dutch trance maestro DJ Tiesto. After buying the DJ Tiesto compilation ‘Revolutions’, this spiralled into me buying the In search of Sunrise comp’s, Magik Journey series and any other Tiesto related Cd’s. Alongside Tiesto I also started listening to the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and Marco V. All these artists have had effect on me till this present day, whether it to be there productions or DJ sets. I travelled up and down the country following these DJ’s, whether it be Gatecrasher at The Republic or Heaven in London, Passion at the Emporium or Slinky at the Opera House etc ... I soon realised that I wanted one day to be on the other side of the DJ booth.

In the summer of 2007 I started my own label nu-depth recordings with the intention of hopefully one day competing with the big guns. Vandit, Discover, Euphonic, Conspiracy all these labels have been influential to me the last couple of years and their sound is what I‘ve tried to incorporate onto the label, just with a bit added depth!!! Kicking off my project was Mark Eteson & Jon Prior’s ‘Dynamic Stability’; this was backed with a big euphoric Remix from Aly & Fila and a punchy workout from Frase. This released featured on Armin’s ‘A State OF Trance’ show and most recently on Tiesto’s ‘Club Life’ show. Other supporters of the nu-depth sound include John Askew, Jon O’Bir, John O’Callaghan (my current heroes!!!), Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Ronski Speed, Matt Darey, Mark Eteson, Activa, MIKE, Kuffdam & Plant, Marcos, Frase and many more.

With releases and remixes forthcoming on nu-depth from myself, I hope one day that I will be able to rub shoulders with the likes of the above names, one day hopefully. As I read somewhere before ‘If you don’t have a vision of where you want to go, you won’t get there’.
