Stepping up to the edit room this week we have @djbreathingexercise, this Bristol-based DJ and producer has been making serious movements in the scene, bagging himself a recent slot on Kindred London and getting played on Alexis’s set for The Lab.

Combining big breaks, synth sweeps, and one huge sub line, DJBE has put together an outrageous edit of the absolute classic from Flo Rida, 'Low'.

Joe Koshin makes his debut on Buried Records with his new EP ‘Inside’. Originally from Yorkshire, Joe’s introduction to dance music was forged in the North-east’s lively dance scene. This is where the sounds of Dubstep and Drum & Bass first piqued his interest in Electronic music. Currently based in London, he has developed his style in the renowned dance culture of the capital, elements of Breakbeat, Electro and Garage began to feature more prominently in his musical output. Rinse FM, Balamii, Planetaria Soundsystem, Childsplay and 199 have supported Koshin’s recent releases.
With all three tracks from the album being made during the pandemic, eerie tones can be heard throughout the EP reflecting the struggles we have all faced recently. Joe explains ‘I got myself into a pretty deep creative rut, and my output was at a real low'. With this lack of motivation, he struggled to make time for music and even considered throwing in the towel.
Our pick falls on the final track ‘There’s Nothing’ which pays homage to the Brazilian music Joe discovered during the lockdown. Clever sampling fuses cultural influence with his fierce sound seamlessly and is the hidden gem within this release.

Followed by the dark garage/ dubstep belter ‘Rat City’ making you feel like you are stuck in Silent Hill itself. The B side brings a more energetic dubstep feel with ‘Chapel Town’ named after the area in Leeds PB & Breakfake first met and is known for its Dub history. The Ep ends with ‘Dub the Acid’ a hypnotic dungeon track with deep subs and a bouncy acid to match.

Annie first discovered her passion for London’s nightlife when she relocated to the city from Toronto. Finding her way behind the decks shortly after, she has developed a distinct style that has earned the seal of approval of globally-renowned artists, fellow DJs and iconic brands. With her debut EP, Block N Delete, Annie has taken the next step in her creative career. Released via Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce label, the record chronicles the creation and destruction of a romantic relationship in the digital age and is a nonsense love letter to the club.  Fusing bass, techno and UKG, the four tracks immerses listeners into Annie’s euphoric brand of nihilism; encouraging listeners to dance through emotions at 4AM rather than doomscrolling alone at home.
