Following their debut album, 'You Belong to Dax Darling'  in 2011, a full support tour with Charlotte Church, and high profile shows with the 
likes of the band everyone seems to be name-dropping, The Strypes, Houdini Dax are back with a brand new single 'Our Boy Billy' on Cardiff's
burgeoning new record label, The Underclassed.  Houdini Dax' new single coincides with a Pledge Music campaign to fan-fund the band's
forthcoming album 'Darker Side Of Town'.  ‘Our Boy Billy’ showcases a more polished sound for the band, highlighting the Dax's ever-prevalent 
infectious hooks and melodies. From The Beatles to Tame Impala and from Supergrass to Black Rebel Motorcyle Club, Houdini Dax have a 
healthy concoction of influences and these flavours shine through brilliantly in their new material. The band are styling their new live shows in a 
similar fashion to how the great Harry Houdini promoted himself in the early 20th century; look out for magicians, suited comperes and expect a 
different kind of gig experience. The album 'Darker Side of Town' will be released in 2014 to coincide with a UK tour.

This is our brand new single 'Apple Tree', it's released on Jealous Lovers Club March 1st 2015. "A juicy nugget of pop goodness filled with indie rock riffs and luscious three-part harmonies, 'Apple Tree' takes aim straight at your feet - designed to make you dance and groove 'til you drop." 

Filmed on a glorious day in Wales, we got our very own Mini Dax (the super-talented Fin, Jack and Charlie) to headbang and swagger their way through a country house courtyard - like a more mature Britpop video.

'Apple Tree' is our first release of 2015, giving a preview of our fan-funded upcoming album 'Naughty Nation'.

PQQ - Year Of The Snake

‘You’ve Changed’ is the first single from the new album by Danny Gruff, and it’s due for release on 8th November. This is the first album he’s recorded with his band ‘The Peacemakers’. 

Danny Gruff is a Wrexham born singer songwriter based in Manchester. Since the release of his self titled debut album in 2017, Danny has racked up over a million streams on Spotify, a few sold out UK tours and a few high profile support slots including the likes of Bowling for Soup, McFly, James Bourne (Busted) and Frank Turner. 
 
At the end of 2023, Danny got the band in a practise room to rehearse for a one off show in the Castle in Manchester. The gig sold out months in advance and the plan was to play songs from Danny’s career up until that point. However, the band started writing together in the lead up to the gig, as a way to distract themselves. When the gig was done, the momentum was still there with the band so they booked some studio time for later in the year. 

In September 2024, the band entered The Motor Museum in Liverpool (Arctic Monkeys, 1975, Bring Me The Horizon, The Zutons) to start recording their self produced album, ‘The Circus is In Town’. 
They finished tracking the vocals for the album in Airtight Studios, Manchester (Badly Drawn Boys, The Coureeners, Robert Plant). 

Collectively, the band took influence for this album from Bruce Springsteen, Bleachers, The Faces, War on Drugs and Stereophonics. The album’s theme is based around moving out of your hometown, and returning years later and all the growing up that happens in that time.

Live at the Vaults is a television programme showcasing the very best musical acts from Cardiff. Musicians from a variety of genre's including acoustic acts, hip-hop and indie bands perform in our underground vault before answering questions out about in Cardiff from our presenter Sian King.


The show will be airing Friday's at 9pm starting on the 6th February exclusively on Made in Cardiff TV and it's sister stations. This high quality show is brought to you by Roll Your Own productions with a stellar crew and some great partners bringing you a fantastic music experience to entertain you on Friday evenings.
