Sun was shining bright over the Mediterranean, as the partipants of the Dream of Utopia Festival (Secret Location, Turkish Coast) boarded one magnificent pirate ship for a day full of adventures at the sea...

Eventually, our virtuosos, Daniel Jaeger (Criminal Bassline, Get Physical, Katermukke) and Electronic Elephant (Station Endlos, Bordel des Arts, Bar 25 Music) got their hands on the decks too... And so a very special, spontaneous B2B session came to life for the Pirates of Utopia! This is a 2-hour cut from their longer set. Ahoyyy! Enjoy ;)

Mein Lieblings-Club ist definitiv der Südpol in Hamburg. Von Profis für Profis. Dort hat es den einzig wahren Nebel, alles andere ist nur schlechte Sicht. Herrlich unkompliziertes Personal, bunte Mischung an Gästen und eine der besten Sound-Anlagen Deutschlands. Ja, das ist mein Happy-Place ❤

🗯🗯 Verwendest du neue Technologie oder bist du eher klassisch unterwegs? 🗯🗯

Da ich fast nur eigene Sachen spiele und ein paar wenige Tracks von Freunden kenn ich die Tracks in- und auswendig , das ist sehr wichtig wenn man die Funktionen der Player ausreizt, da geht einiges und ich bin absolut frei in dem was ich da mache. Ich loope viel, bau neue Tracks aus meinen vorhandenen, alla den bass von hier , Vokals und Synthes von hier.... So passiert ständig was neues, unvorhergesehenes ... Mein Anspruch ist immer unberechenbar zu bleiben...

Den April läuten wir heute mit dem Set unseres Residents Barti ein.

Geprägt durch die Einflüsse der Clubszene, startete der gebürtige Berliner das Projekt „BARTi“ im Jahr 2014, als Teil des Kollektivs Freitraum. 
Bereits ein Jahr später war er an der Gründung des Mit Dir Festivals beteiligt - genau der richtige Rahmen, vielseitige Erfahrungen zu sammeln. 
Dieses Know How investiert er nun auch seit dem Jahr 2019 in sein neues Projekt, das Verteiler Kollektiv. Dieser Facettenreichtum spiegelt sich auch in seinem Sound wieder. 
Ob lokal in Berlin(Salon zur wilden Renate, Bucht, Mensch Meier, Ritter Butzke u.v.m.) unterwegs oder aber auch mal international auf anderen Flecken dieser Erde - BARTi bringt jeden Floor zum Beben. 
Sein sich zwischen progressivem House und deepen Minimal bewegenden Sound, treibt stets zum Tanzen an und erfindet sich dennoch permanent neu.
Dieses Mal präsentiert er uns ein Set aus dem Genre Organic House.

Sabura invites you into a dark, mystical world. Impulsive, dreamy, enthusiastic, in the moment. But also dark, coarse, shaking the soul and creating in trance states. His unmistakable costume made of recycled bicycle tubes, reminds of a mighty owl watching over everyone, Sabura not only plays sets, he also creates the setting. With his talent for the realization of visions and events, which he does within his collective "Eulentanz", he established contacts with artists and initiators, designed stages and cemented his name in the techno scene. After his first release “Sined” on Geistzeit came out, further tracks followed on well-known labels such as EIN2, Say What? Recordings and Alula Tunes. Big artists like Teenage Mutants, Betoko, Marius Drescher, Khainz, NekliFF, Yubik, Innacircle and BoyNextDoor supported him with remixes. Sabura knows no boundaries. The owl spreads its wings not only in Germany, he play his music all over Europe and recently toured in Asia. Sabura is at home where shadow and light alternate. He played at festivals like the „Habitat-Festival“, the „Wilde Möhre“ and also designed the concept for Festivalstages and worked as a Stagemanager. His style shifts between progressive house, melodic and dark driving techno. Its sound is reminiscent of epic film themes. This creates an atmosphere that is detached from space and time. Sabura creates very own utopias and scenarios with his sets. Impulsive but sensitive. It drives you ceaselessly, carries you far out, lets you fall into the delirium and then catches you again. He feels comfortable in the dark. Wherever it is deep black, neutral, quiet and anonymous, he draws his creativity. Hypnotic, organic, cosmic and propulsive.

Vorwärts durchs Dunkel in die Ektase ist die Devise, wenn Annett Gapstream auflegt. Uns Füchsen ist noch lebhaft im Gedächtnis, wie Annett uns bei unserer allerersten Party als Kollektiv im November 2019 mit einem strahlenden Lächeln Track nach Track ins Bewusstsein gemischt hat. 

Annett ist Teil des Berliner Kollektivs und Labels Rebellion der Träumer. 2018 hat sie ihre ersten Tracks released und zeigt auch als Producerin ihre unverkennbare Musikalität. Checkt unbedingt ihre Releases bei Labels wie Stil vor Talent, Nown Music und Rebellion der Träumer.

Wir sind dankbar und glücklich, dass sie nun auch den Aufschlag für unseren Fuchs-Cast beigesteuert hat! Das Set ist eine besondere Reise durch die treibenden und sphärischen Nuancen des Techno und versetzt uns nostalgisch zurück in die Anfangszeit unseres Kollektivs.

As DJs we took the Flow Session format as an opportunity to reminisce about musical styles that have been inspiring to us over the last 20 years and bring them together in a 03:33:33hr mix. We always enjoy long sets for the sake of greater variety. As it has been a difficult year, lacking the chance to perform, we took ten months of studio time and produced several new tracks that we would love to introduce to you now. Mostly as yet unpublished, may they guide you to a new year, hopefully a year full of hugging and loud music. - @kuriosenaturale

KURIOSE NATURALE started their journey together at Berlin’s legendary Bachstelzen Parties in 2006. Kristian and Jonathan had each been working on varying DJ-projects from the mid 90s on, when starting to establish an approach towards their own sound. Influenced by acid and deep techno of the early days...infused by diverse music genres… innovatively trying out for the new while cherishing the past…controversial…funky… groovingly seducing the senses…sometimes even disturbing our mind…on the dancefloors of Mother Earth… or from their studio on the grounds of Holzmarkt Berlin…their journey will go on forever…

Flow Sessions 043 - Kuriose Naturale

After so many months of not having a proper dance floor, being close to all the dancers and living the familiar routine of playing every weekend it was a special journey to create a three an a half hours mix for me. Within the last year I realised more than ever that electronic music and the culture that comes with it is one of the most appreciated parts of my life and I guess it was like that for many people, too. This mix is a reflection of that. I wanted to create a mix that includes all of the different variations of four to the floor music I like. My intension was to have a groovy and drifting but also smooth and diverse vibe. I was digging deep in my music collection to include some of my old favourite tracks combined with some new stuff. I wanted to have a slow dance atmosphere with a soft and light touch...a flowing space to dive into. - Mimi @spreedelay

If all went according to plan you wouldn’t be the least interested in this text. Indeed the story of young Velten who leaves his hometown in the Black Forest to find an orderly apprenticeship in Berlin and who grows up over time – such a story wouldn’t be very gripping. Fortunately there is a club in Berlin that is called „Ostgut“ and people like Velten who like to make irrational decisions from time to time. The outcome is foreseeable: instead of sitting in the subway on his way to work, on a Monday morning, Velten much rather joins his pals in his run down flat for an after hour. Luckily these pals not only share their passion for sheer endless nights, but also start to organise eventseries, open bars or turn a rundown Berlin backyard into a club. This is exactly the path that turned Velten within a short period of time into a DJ, producer and finally KATERMUKKE label boss DIRTY DOERING. 

In the beginning it’s more about beer and liquor. Velten trades the office-desk for the bar counter and lends the prospective Berlin Techno-celebrities a hand on their way to delirium. The fact that he regularly provides them with his own DJ-Mix tapes comes in quite handily. Back then hi sets are inspired by the same staggering hedonistic vibe, that lures more and more people into the small bar between Holzmarkt street and the bank of the Spree: Bar 25 is slowly making waves. Here, they’ve been waiting for someone like Velten. Eventually DIRTY DOERING becomes an essential part of BAR 25. The guy behind the counter turns into a resident DJ, the queue in front of the club is getting longer and longer and friends become family. Outside of Berlin DIRTY DOERING is in everyone’s ears by 2010 the latest: With „I Would“ and the fitting video, full of colourful, out of time moving people, he not only reflects the sound but primarily the lifestyle of BAR 25, to the point where the whole world wants to dance with him on the shores of the Spree river.

Since then a lot has happened: DJ Bookings from New York to Tokyo, BAR 25 has been shut down and reopened and meanwhile DIRTY DOERING has burnt down all dance floors with every new release or remix he has released. Eventually the BAR 25 era came to an end and the Kater-era started. Naturally it was Velten, who had the idea of founding the appending label KATERMUKKE. He’s been releasing music on the label ever since – no less colourful and varied than his DJ Sets. Whether it’s deep or impellent, weirdly enchanted or crystal clear – DIRTY DOERING and KATERMUKKE don’t tie themselves down but still know where the journey should go: Onwards, escaping daily routines, straight ahead into this insanely liberating feeling, where the beat means everything and the thought of the morning after counts for nothing. LOST IN MUSIC.
