The latest release from Movement Recordings finds label boss Tash back in the spotlight with a new EP. 2024 has proved to be a fruitful year for Tash, one which has seen the Greek artist release a new single in ‘Banyan Blast' and a remix for Tomy Wahl's ‘Vagator' for his home imprint, alongside a well-received rendition of ‘Shiraz' by veterans Yves Eaux and Nick Vale for Chrom Recordings. Seemingly in constant motion as a DJ, Tash has continued to be a force across India's burgeoning scene, as well as his Greek homeland with a neverending run of gigs that continues to bolster his reputation as one Europe's longest running selectors. Now, as 2024 reaches its fourth quarter, Tash returns to Movement with ‘Basic Principles', alongside remixes from Futur-E and ID ID.

Already a much requested track in the sets of Tash, it is the club-effective qualities of ‘Basic Principles' which lead the release off. Finding a nice balance between progressive house and melodic house and techno, it's a foundation of punchy kick drums and rolling basslines which carries a bevy of astral-inspired themes and warm radiant pads. Tash's dynamic dancefloor vision shines across the main break, flowing through tasteful modulation and atmospheric swells, as a wave of noise summons a thunderous drop and epic final movement. Continuing to flex different sides of his studio repertoire, it is the cross-genre vibes of ‘Zulu' which follows. Quirky and energy inducing in all the right ways, it's a series of devilish chord stabs and chanted vocals which create an ominous narrative, one which eventually culminates in a rush of chunky grooves for a powerful finale.

The lone interpretation of 'Basic Principles' finds Futur-E returning to the label for his seventh appearance. As the Movement Recordings label manager, the Greek artist has delivered three originals and three remixes since making his debut with a contribution to the label's popular 'Technical Progress' series in 2020. Often finding a creative balance between progressive and melodic house, the Elefsis resident remains choosey in his projects, with standout appearances on Mango Alley and Stripped Recordings in recent years. With a remix of 'Out Of This World' by Delum highlighting his 2024 schedule, Futur-E now returns to Movement with a driving rendition of 'Basic Principles'. Taking a smooth yet energetic approach, Futur-E constructs a tight rhythmic core, complemented with punchy beats, reprocessed sonics and retro synth lines. It's this colourful fusion of sound which ultimately makes for a version that is both cutting-edge and club-effective; one that should crossover to a variety of dancefloors across the remainder of 2024.

The release concludes with ID ID making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Zulu'. Hailing from Brazil, Zim coined his ID ID alias in 2022 and with it came a bevy of top tier projects. With a unique fusion of indie dance and melodic house and techno, ID ID quickly became an in demand commodity within the trendsetting confines of electronic music. Releases via Borders of Light, Diynamic, Odd One Out and Stimulate proved to be standouts, bringing with them support from Agents of Time, Solomun and Tale Of Us, amongst others. Now, adding Movement Recordings to his resume, ID ID debuts on the label with a thrilling take on ‘Zulu'. Opting for a contemporary approach, ID ID's off-kilter rhythms, pyrotechnic design and hook-heavy synth mutations make this ideal for the peak-time hours when emotions are at their most receptive, in turn adding another sure fire weapon for your arsenal for the remainder of 2024.

After the great success of Chaos Ignition, Favio Inker and Rodrigo AM team up again for a new single, which stands out for being more melodic compared to the darkness of Chaos Ignition. However, they don't leave behind the intricate synthesizers and a groove designed for the dancefloor that's impossible to resist.
