Breakbeat Paradise Recording has no plan on slowing down the steady flow of hot 7-inch vinyls in the epic Toxic Funk-series. On the 7th installment of the series we seeing a new crew called Suckaside taking on the scene of funky street edits by storm. 
Suckaside consists of BBP/Ghetto Funk superstar B-Side who has teamed up with long time funky DJ Sucka Timmy who specialize in DJ friendly funky edits and original productions. Together their styles blend into a rather Toxic cocktail of the funky street beats of DJ B-Side and the trained ear and skill for blending music from Sucka Timmy. 

Toxic Funk Vol. 7 gives us a perfect example of what the Suckaside crew is all about with 2 state-of-the-art toxic funk bangers on this double A-sided instant classic funky 7 inch.
Stating off with the street funky Put Your Catz Up joint that can guarantee to rock just about any block party to its core. That is being followed up with the even funkier and smooth Hot Jumpin’ on the flipside taking on some classic hip hop royalty - wrapped into a smooth funky arrangement.

This is only the beginning of what to expect from this production team and we’re excited to be the first to release their funky jams on vinyls. Look out for more music coming soon from the team Suckaside.

For some, 2021 is so far feeling less like a new beginning, and more of a continuation of 2020’s disastrous chaos. But fear not - Do As You Please has a cure for your lockdown pain. Please allow yourself to be properly acquainted with Blakes, an exciting new alias from acclaimed industrial techno DJ/producer, Balrog. We are honoured to be presenting his debut mix; a 2 hour remedy that will undoubtedly clear those January blues, and inject you with a concoction of grooving swagger to warm our souls, lift the spirits and relax our minds. The dynamic Leeds based DJ treats us to an eclectic collection of downtempo and hip hop, reminiscent of early Ninja Tune era, spun seamlessly with killer disco and house cuts. 

We are eased in with soothing yet funky jazz-infused downtempo which carry harmonious horns, rich guitar licks, comforting chords and melodic vocal samples. If you want to feel like you’re floating mid-air without a care in the world, these beats will do it. With an effortless flair, Blakes slips in healthy doses of nostalgia, bringing in timeless hip hop joints from the likes of Outkast, KRS-One, Mobb Deep and A Tribe Called Quest, transcending us across both time and the Atlantic. We are then joyfully enticed into a plethora of funky house and disco tracks, ending with a quick stop tour guide through enduring soulful classics from The Isley Brothers, Zhane and Cheryl Lynn, driven by thriving kick drums and snare hits. This is the kind of music that soundtracks a strut down the high street with such a rhythmic passion, that you forget to look left and right... you have been warned. 

Indeed Blakes has proved to be a musical force of nature, already sweeping the scene by storm with his unique take on industrial techno which epitomises grit, hardness and groove, and releasing on labels such as BLOK, Arcane and Otomo Trax. With this fast paced success he subsequently created his own label, Khazad Records, which has given a platform for fresh young producers to pioneer the industrial and hard techno renaissance. This makes such a departure even more exciting and adventurous, proving an already inspiring diverse and untethered creativity in his career. After listening to this stupendous debut, we cannot wait to find out where this path will take him and if this mix is anything to go by, we will not be disappointed.

What better way to start off this incredible line up with one of the most talented new electronic artists coming out of London at the moment. We are honoured to present Kloyd, who’s extraordinary music is quickly gaining the recognition it deserves. 

After catching the attention of BBC Introducing, Kloyd was invited to open their first ever stage at Inner City Electronic in 2020. Subsequently, Universal Production Music approached and signed Kloyd to their first all female produced compilation album, 100% Her. Accompanying these major milestones Kloyd has had a string of releases that are some of the most beautiful works we’ve heard in a long time. 

Unsurprisingly, her IWD mix is as beautifully crafted as her music, as it spans through an all-female tracklist that is nothing short of outstanding. With a plethora of delicate synths and chopped female vocal samples over a masterful mixture of house, garage, electro and techno rhythms blended with a utterly unique level of care of attention, this atmospheric mix epitomises the talent that women have to offer to electronic music.
