Right on the New Year's eve @ 12:30 AM to 1:00 AM, Xzajyk (aka Danny Momar of Smooth Friction) and I decided to create an instrumental song called "KEPLER-186F (Life After Earth)", the music video was Directed by Johnjohn of 0rdinary0 and Bombo Pluto Ova. A decade, more or less, has passed since the last time I composed a song. Though, I never really did stop appreciating and writing music, it has been quite long since I wrote music that had such meaning to me, such emotion and such passion.

After three takes of documenting this creative process, this is the final cut. I had such inspiration because of all the events that have taken place, I composed the music right then and there while my son, John, was recording it.

For the victims,
for the survivors,
for the ones who have passed on,
for the ones who are left behind.

♥ Papa died during the violent storm, as he referred to in his Eastern Visayas local newspaper column- "Echo From The Pacific". He died due to hypothermia while clinging to the electrical wiring from the roof gutter of our house during the unexpected flood of cold sea water and violent cold winds. Just before he died, I was able to talk to him that morning and I heard the whistling of the winds on the phone. And he feared that this was a different kind of storm unlike those we experienced in the past. My daughter called me from Sweden around 9 am and asked me where Papa was, I told her that he was at Fatima Village. She requested me to evacuate Papa immediately to Dora's 2-storey house because there was a possible tsunami to hit Tacloban City. Unfortunately, it was already too late because communications were already down. Papa told me that he was born during a great typhoon on November 7 at Naval, Leyte and that he was placed inside a wooden box for safety. I jokingly told him that he should have been placed inside a "kaing". The parallelism of the events surrounding his birth and his death are quite bewildering. Plus, his column entitled Echoes from the Pacific resonates the same mystery surrounding the entirety of Papa's life. Right now, I will be missing him because I always call him during the morning and right before he sleeps every single day. These past few years, as we got older, I got to know who he truly was because it is only during the later years in his life that we found the time to truly bond. It was during these last years that I fully understood the reason why he was always busy, with barely enough time to talk to us as we were growing up. During this time, I felt and understood that he did everything because of his love for us and that he was only being a good provider to his family. I love and miss you Papa. Right now, you may be buried in our backyard but that is only temporary. We will do everything to place you in your last resting place at La Paz right beside Mama where you have already prepared your tomb. He was a great engineer and he influenced me to follow in his footsteps and the same with my son who is also a Civil Engineer. Papa, you may rest in peace. We love you and may GOD be always with you. Oh yeah wahkokok! ♥ \m/
