The Cream Always Rises - Baseline Mix

It took a village. 

Hailing from a small village on the Isle of Wight, England & growing up in the 1990’s surrounded by the illegal rave culture at the time of farms, fields & forests, Danny fostered his passion and search for music, subculture & unconventional people. Ranging from the heavily straight world of jungle, breaks & drum & bass to the gay hedonism of progressive house in the 90’s to the posing queer electroclash scene & fashion world of Central Saint Martins in the 2000’s. Since moving to London in 1999 he then took a fateful trip to New York City in 2012, he never left. 

Danny Clobber, also known as A Village Raid, Donnatella, Stella is a key figure in the NYC underground & DIY queer nightlife scene, particularly known for his crucial role & involvement in The Spectrum & The Dreamhouse. As a cultural curator, nightlife promoter and DJ, Clobber played a significant role in shaping the vibrant prism and radically inclusive energy of The Spectrum & later The Dreamhouse. He helped forge new unregulated ways to be together & provide a refuge for queer, trans & POC communities from mainstream nightlife & a hostile political landscape. 

His contributions helped make The Spectrum/Dreamhouse an iconic part of Brooklyn’s queer underground scene in the 2010’s.

Clobber’s work has extended beyond nightlife with multiple releases, working in film, theatre & advertising & composing for the likes of Diesel to Disney, Vivienne Westwood to Wedgewood. He continues to create a world of music & film encompassing a life lived as a cultural magpie and global nomad.
