So, I was listening to some of my older pieces, and came across one of my favorites from Aurora Divide. I tuned it up a whole step, and it was like listening to a brand new piece.

Your pursuit of the Evil Queen Banana takes you to the delicious and mesmerizing Enchilada Valley, but don't be tempted by the mouthwatering scent of delectable beef and cheese below, for in those sour cream cloudy skies lies a hot'n'spicy danger!

Be careful, Pilot Heroperson!!

Shoot'm UP! Stage 2 (Enchilada Valley!)

Pilot Heroperson has barely escaped the clutches of the Pink Goomancer who resided over Bubblegum Bay, and was able to discern another clue to the whereabouts of the Evil Queen Banana!

A note bound with red and black straps of licorice vine pointed our pilot towards the lush, sweet Licorice Whip Jungles. This lush and exotic rainforest is a majestic beauty, dense with thick candy licorice vines of all colors of the rainbow, home to many curious gummy creatures which find Pilot Heroperson's ship quite interesting!

Oh, Pilot Heroperson, do be careful! One wrong move and your ship could easily be tangled in the swaying candy vines for good, but your quest must continue, for the sake of the world! Be brave!

Shoot'm UP! - Stage 4  (Licorice Whip Jungle!)

Having defeated the tricky Redvine Lioness in her lair deep within the Licorice Whip jungle, she divulges a huge clue to you after you promise to deliver her kingdom from the evil clutches of the Evil Queen Banana!

"Gelato Heights is holding their annual Sprinkleblast Fireworks celebration, and the Evil Queen's first lieutenant, Sgt. Fudge, goes every year! If you're fast, you can probably catch him! I am 450% sure he would know where that crazy banana lady's secret hideout is!"

Our Pilot Heroperson quickly travels to the megalopolis, with its immense skyscrapers made of strawberry, lemon, and chocolate mounds of sweet gelato, with it's fancy embellishments of fudge and marshmallows for only the richest of it's denizen! Against the sugar-star night sky, it's a breathtaking sight! 

But oh nooooooooooo! While being distracted by the city, our poor Pilot has been discovered, and Sgt. Fudge is trying to make a daring escape in his fudgemobile under the cover of the immense firework display! It's hard to see his dark limo in this darkness, but when the candy fireworks explode in the night sky, you can see which way he went if you're fast enough!

Quick, pilot! Chase that chocofiend, but be careful not to get blown to smithereens by the sprinkle pyrotechnics or crash into any of the complicated on and off ramps or neon signs that twist and turn all throughout this crazy freeway!

Waiting On Sunlight

After Queen Banana regained her throne, peace washed over the lands of Planet Ohmygosh for years, until a new threat looms overhead! Magic Marshmeteors have been colliding into the planet at an alarming pace, causing the denizens of Vanilla City to be mildly inconvenienced with sticky roads and awful inclement weather! Its up to Pilot Heroperson and their ship Blamwambam to investigate!

Downtown has been hit the worst, causing literal traffic jams after causing all of the cars to stick together! It's a pile up of palatable proportions! It's up to you, Pilot, to sort this mess out!

Vari'a'Belle, Master of the Elements - Stage 2, Plains Shrine

An alpha Mitosis vernesi, or Alpha Wyvern Bat, is an exceptionally large wyvern bat that has come to the Prairie Shrine to protect the rest of its pack, as the enemies Vari had been facing had been corrupted wyvern bats. It is a type of carnivorous diurnal bat that behaves and resembles a wyvern. The alpha wyvern is the dominant male that leads the pack while the smaller females hunt, but will come to their aid if the pack is distressed. It can use its large wings to create harmful gusts of wind, or it can use its fangs and hind claws to attack directly.

A Winner Is You!

The Naughty Naiad, name of Nayid (her parents weren't bright), is a curious aquatic creature that comes to investigate Vari because it has been a while since she's seen a human. Naiads are amphibious creatures with scales and fins like fish, but tend to resemble human females in body shape (even the males). Naiads are capable of human speech, but generally have little intelligence about life on land, as they rarely stray too far from their chosen body of water and rarely get too close to humans. This particular female Naiad is under the miasma's influence, which is why she confronts and challenges Vari.

Walking The Beat

When the trees of the Licorice Whip Jungles give way to pink and amber grasslands, you've reached the fruity lands of the wild savanna.

Dotted with candied shrubs and covered in delicious red fruit, it's easy to lose oneself in the lush, untamed vegetation! Keep your wits though, Pilot Heroperson, for the Marshmeteor threat looms overhead!

Dodge the candied wildlife and take cover from the juicy monsoons that rustle these sun-kissed grasslands, but don't forget to take a few berries home as a lovely, delicious memory of the Strawberry Savanna!

Stage 6 - Strawberry Savanna

Hot, hot, HOT!

This curious and caffeinated river system is chock full of free-flowing coffee! Pilot, i hope your ship can stand the temperatures, because this crazy cappuccino chaos doesn't stop bubbling over for anyone!

If you have to take a moment to consider whether to turn left or right  to avoid those deliciously dangerous hazards, it's too late! You gotta fly off of instinct here, because slow isn't in the flow! You'd better be quick on your feet, hands, and whatever else you use to pilot your ship! Maybe you'll get lucky and land your ship in one of the calming creamer pockets, but don't stay there long! Rest just long enough to get enough energy to press on! You got a planet to save!

Fly off the coffee handle, bring some of your favorite creamer, and take those marshmeteors out of the espresso equation if you wanna rescue this area from decaffineated danger!

Stage 7 - Espresso Rapids

After Queen Banana and her townsfolk were rescued from the icy grips of Inquisitor Frostburn, it was decided that a change of location was in order! Nothing says "fresh start" like picking up the village and moving it halfway across the planet! Luckily, The Redvine Lioness knew the perfect place...

Nestled on the outskirts of Licorice Whip Jungle, Banana Bunch Village is once again a thriving haven of happiness! Bustling with friendly street vendors, a diverse and inclusive population, and a central location to all the sweet and sour hotspots of activity, Banana Bunch Village is the place to be!

Queen Banana has never been prouder of her subjects, and now that the village is back in running order, she can focus on helping Pilot Heroperson in their quest!

@MusicWeeklies challenge for 2/27 - "Enchanted Forest"

I imagined a forest that led people through it's confusing and enchanted mist by the use of wooden bells hanging from the tree tops. After finding this photo as reference online, the creativity started churning and 6 hours later, this is the result <3

This is it.

The only thing between us and that Enchantress Tival is this spire. We are at the bottom, and she is at the top. 

Time flows strangely inside of this tall pristine structure that sits atop  the rest of Tival's manor. Evenything seems to move a little more precisely - a little more deliberately. Even the dust seems to fall and gather with a calculated manner. It's obvious that everything in this magician's hideout is enchanted in some manner to bend the rules of time just slightly.

That doesn't make this place any less deadly. Perhaps, more so. Traps that could easily be sidestepped before are now deadly accurate, because even our bodies seem to be affected by this enchantment of time. 

Taking steps, breathing, or even blinking here out of rhythm with the rest of the spire feels so unnatural that its impossible to do. But we must push forward--er....upward, to defeat Tival and save our grandma and our village!
