DANNY - 'For Arts and Culture') on arena tour 2020/2021
By means of his campaign 'Für Kunst und Kultur' ('For Arts and Culture'), singer-songwriter DANNY from Cologne, Germany wants to set a cultural example. So he went on a German-wide arena tour during the second lockdown in November and December 2020 presenting his new single 'Fast & Slow' to show impressively, as an affected solo artist, what the current situation looks like for creative artists: meaningless stages, empty seats and no room for arts and culture. He played Germany’s biggest arenas streaming those concerts live via his Instagram account @danny.officialmusic. Moreover, the empty arenas serve as scenes for his official music video to his upcoming single ‘Together’ (release date January 29) which deals with the current situation in terms of loneliness and lack of intimacy due to protective measures against COVID-19. By playing concerts at Porsche Arena and Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Danny successfully reached his fundraising goal for Herzenssache e.V. which is a charitable organization that supports children and adolescents. During his livestream performance at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, he collected donations for the zoo Berlin Tierpark. In addition, together with BonnLive and other artists, he stood up for Bonn's cultural scene reaching a donation goal of 5000 euros in favor of local creative artists.

Der 28-jährige Singer Songwriter stand in den letzten acht Jahren für mehr als 800 Konzerte weltweit auf der Bühne. Lighthouse – Neue Single ist ein Mix aus Super Mario, Tron und Stranger Things. 

Lighthouse ist Danny’s achte Studio Single im Jahr 2021. Während seiner Backpackerreise in Israel 2016 erlebte Danny einen musikalischen Wendepunkt in seinem Leben und schrieb zu diesem Zeitpunkt die ersten Textzeilen nieder, die fünf Jahre später als Song Lighthouse veröffentlicht werden sollten. Der Song spricht über eine Orientierungslosigkeit im Leben, die jede und jeder einmal durchlaufen kann, und darüber, wie wichtig es ist, eine Person zu haben, die einem einen Ausweg bietet. Besonders wichtig war es Danny, mit der Single seinen Sound neu zu erfinden und den traditional Singer Songwriter mit 80s Pop und elektronischen Elementen zu verbinden. 

Das offizielle Musikvideo: Ein Mix aus 8bit Super Mario, Stranger Things und Tron. 

In dem offiziellen Musikvideo springt DANNY als 8bit Super Mario auf der NES Konsole durch eine bunte Nintendo Landschaft. Gespielt wird er von einem 10-jährigen Jungen, der von seiner Schwester genervt wird, weil sie das neue Musikvideo ihres Lieblingskünstlers schauen möchte. In dem Musikvideo performt DANNY mit vier Tänzerinnen, die mit ihren neon-bunten Outfits an den Film Tron erinnern. 

„Seit über fünf Jahren trage ich nun den Song Lighthouse mit mir umher. Von der ersten Version des Songs bis bin zur fertigen Pop Version habe ich viele Stationen als Musiker durchlaufen. Mir persönlich bedeutet dieses Werk sehr viel, da ich die Textzeilen zu einem Punkt in meinen Leben geschrieben habe, an dem ich fast die Leidenschaft für die Musik verloren hätte. 
Als ich dann in Israel auf einer 30-tägigen Backpackerreise für mich wieder anfing die Leidenschaft für die Musik zurückzugewinnen, schrieb ich die Zeilen für meine heutige Single Lighthouse.

Bereits als Kind träumte Danny davon, einmal als Musiker die Bühnen der Welt zu betreten, kurz bevor er für sich die Straßenmusik entdeckte. Mit 17 Jahren folgten die ersten Auftritte in Bars und Clubs und schließlich der Sprung zum Vollblutmusiker.

Danny (30) Singer Songwriter (Pop) born in Berlin, based in Cologne. At the early age of 12, he discovered his passion for busking, which still holds a strong influence on his musical style today. His songs have been described as authentic and honest storytelling, dealing with subjects like pursuing one's own dreams and the self-doubt that goes with that
 journey. Musically, he's influenced by greats such as Coldplay and John Mayer.

– In 2020, during the second lockdown in Germany, he played a Germany-wide arena tour without an audience, that was streamed live on Instagram @danny.officialmusic, to highlight the hardship that artists faced during the pandemic.
