There we are : Two years have passed already again since the last single by Jazzanova, 
"I Human".

"Never change a winning team"  is the name of the formula for success with the current coup "Now There Is We". Once again Paul Randolph takes care of vocal business and wrote lyrics that are as uplifting as only he can provide. The outcome is a infectious hybrid of vocal house and soulful pop. When Randolph repeats the line "There was me, now there is we, I'll never go back..." at the climax of the song, you notice that he's not only celebrating a romantic triumph, but also the community spirit of a well-functioning band, well maybe even of a party in sheer harmony. 

The trademark of the track though is the ultra deep bass line – along the sophisticated live drum programming – fitting every house-set perfectly.  Therefore you get – that's how service orientated Sonar Kollektiv is – the instrumental version on the flipside of this illustrious 10inch of vinyl.

The Decoders have have enlisted UK soul sensation Alice Russell (Tru Thoughts) to tackle one of their favorite Minnie Riperton songs, Adventures In Paradise, from her 1975 LP of the same name.  Musically, they are taking a departure from the laid back funk of the original, and instead, have adapted the original into a driving afro-latin infused, Band of Gypsies-esque arrangement.  The added grit of Alice's soulful wailing over the anthemic horn section and pumping bassline conjures the presence of Minnie's spirit more than ever as they continue to embark on this tribute journey to her.  Stay tuned for their next batch of songs to round out the LP later this year, Adventures From Paradise Vol 3.

Paris Jones pays homage to Queens God emcee Nasir Jones aka Nasty Nas, by covering one of Nas' most beloved tracks "Made You Look" from his 2002 classic "Gods Son". The track (fully produced by Paris) takes a more boom-bap Hip Hop approach to Nas' classic. Paris balances rapping and singing Nas' lyrics, adding his own unique twist to the Queens anthem. The track also includes excerpts from one of Nas' earliest interviews after a pre-illmatic performance in NY. Paris' soul approach to "Made You Look" will definitely put you in a nostalgic or New York State of Mind, either one works.

Interference feat. allie

Here's a track that is a bit surreal for me. Collaborating on my first jazz track ever with two of the most talented people on SoundCloud - Pavithra Chari and Derek Cornett. This one started as a bass line that I had been toying with for some time and as I brought structure and lyrics to it, I knew that I had to convince Pav to sing it - which she did expertly! I tried doing the lead guitar parts but quickly realized that my jazz riffs were sounding a bit more like blues than I'd care to admit - so I asked Derek if he would like to do the lead parts on the track, which he thankfully agreed to. The song is inspired by my wife's obsession with red guitars.
