In our first episode of Heterodox Radio, Ramon (PUX) and Jason (noyouyesme) bring you a selection of left of center electronic and experimental music from the Heterodox Records catalog. Along with sharing music we will talk a bit about the label, it's history and our plain for future episodes.

Founded in 2006, Heterodox Records is a publisher and advocate of electronic music possessing unique colors and themes. The Portland-based imprint helmed and curated by Ramon Mills (Production Unit Xero) partners with acts pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and offering listeners something unexpected. For over fifteen years and 80-plus releases, Heterodox Records maintains its goal of promoting, encouraging, and presenting sounds of an abstract and personal nature.

occurian is the alias of Portland-based musician Dan Pisarcik. His debut EP was released earlier this year on Heterodox Records— a collection of frenetic, dense compositions in the IDM/braindance vein, influenced by the genre’s pioneers, such as Aphex Twin and Squarepusher.

This collection of songs for Data Cult Audio opens with a portion of occurian’s last live appearance in Austin, TX and is followed by a mix of new and released compositions from recent weeks, the song “mannequin bending” from the EP, and live streamed Twitch performances from spring 2020.
