Jamie Jones recruits Max Dean for ‘Start Screamin’ on Hottrax this July. 

Previously appearing on Resonance, Deeperfect, South Records, and more, Max Dean’s productions receive vast amounts of support from the likes of Michael Bibi and Jamie Jones. Now readying his first release for Jones’ Hottrax imprint, the UK-based DJ/producer drops two groove-laden tracks, marking some of his strongest productions to date. 

Leading the release, the title track ‘Start Scream’ brings swung drums, bouncy basslines, and memorable vocal licks together for an undeniable groover. ‘Yes Baby’ follows suit, bringing another welcome house cut, peppered with spoken word and eerie synth hits over funky low end and skippy percussion.

Born and bred in London, DJ/Producer Max Dean is an artist on an undeniably impressive trajectory. All three tracks are handy, playable cuts, that clock in somewhere between the techno and the minimal markers. The title track Can’t Slow Down is suspenseful, forthright, and pleasingly psychedelic, which offers an energetic, sub-heavy take on house music. Focus comes pumping in with twists and turns through hypnotic beats, alongside a blissful yet haunted melodic background.

Finally, Uppy concludes with an excitable modern-day dub flavour rounding off this bouncy EP on a high. An exciting young producer, Julian Fijma is a rising star worth looking out for. Coming from a small town in The Netherlands, he takes inspiration from many different music genres and styles with which he crafts his unique sound consisting of heavy basslines and groovy drums. Having already released on influential labels, that have bagged a few Beatport #1 spots for his catchy productions, we are very excited to finally release ENDZ055.

Kicking things off with Get Funky, a low-cut, chugging groove that is as much driving as it is funky. Next up, Destructive Rythm, a sinister synth that will darken and annihilate any dancefloor. Flip to the other side, Optional Illusion which is a mover and shaker pursuing seductive, trippy strains of techno. We finish with How it’s Going Down, a deeper-slung sexy bassline, with catchy vocals, and just the right mix of drive and atmosphere.

His musical impact is already steadily growing far past the small town he came from. Watch out for him in a city near you soon.
