The second offering from Ascension on Wax sees label co-founder Lavan dropping four tracks of gently uplifting house that will seduce and tempt you on the dancefloor rather than batter you into submission. 'For The Love' featuring Manpaintinghouse is hazy and lightly jazzy, a skippy beat nailing it down, before the chunkier four to the floor of 'Folk Song' paves the way for more luxurious instrumentation and some sassy spoken word. Flip it over for the teasing, swirling 'Daamn' and a Black Eyes remix of 'For The Love', which slows things down a notch and takes sonic scissors to the vocal narrative. All four are great and, despite being on the mellower side, or tailor made for DJ use. Top notch all round.

PREMIERE: Lavan – Folk Song (Ascension On Wax)

Italian producer Leomar returns to 90watts with a compelling double A side release, 'La Sombra' / 'Zero Gravity.' The record marks his first appearance on the label since late 2024's 'Elusive' and follows his early 2024 'Travel Diary EP,' reaffirming a creative partnership that continues to evolve.

'La Sombra' dives into the deeper, more introspective corners of organic house, weaving emotive atmospheres with textured percussion and subtle melodic motifs. It's a contemplative journey, moody yet warm, showcasing Leomar's refined sense for depth and space.

On the flip side, 'Zero Gravity' lifts the energy with a more uplifting spirit. Driven by infectious groove and a distinct touch of funk, the track balances buoyancy with the artist's signature deepness, creating a dancefloor ready cut that still feels sophisticated and immersive.

With previous releases on labels such as The Purr, Circle of Life, Dialtone and Manual Deep, Leomar continues to carve out a distinctive space within the organic and deep house landscape, this latest double A side standing as a testament to both his versatility and artistic consistency.

This was the night in which he might finally drive through the perilous mauve hole and make it out onto the other side in a shimmering beam of shining gold. Some said that the grass was greener on the other side but there was no seeing that when you sat beneath the belly of the beast and all that lived amidst the soul was dark. 

Sebastian Gummersbach is set to release a new EP on Mauke Signature, a brooding EP packed with high paced energy and dancefloor design. This was our favourite, big room house with a euphoric radiance and deep message.

After a string of successful releases and club shows across the UK, Tech Support brings his A-game for his first outing on Shadow City Records. ‘3 Octaves ‘ sets the tone with a heads-down synth and punky vocal from Whipr Snipr that is sure to send dance floors into a frenzy. A2 ‘Listen’ has a smooth Detroit feel and showcases this budding producers aptitude for sample selection and ability to create a solid vibe that doesn’t falter. On the flip, we see two versions of ‘Abeyant’ featuring Whipr Snipr. The more club-ready of the two, Abeyant (Tunnel Mix) is sure to take you for a ride whilst the (Flight Mix) acts as the perfect end to the most self-assured release that this young, up comer has produced.
