1000 Dragones w/ Elektor, Confidencial Recipe, Dagga, Manao - 18th May 2020

The name of the EP comes from the fact that this EP is made up of tracks from three of our resident DJs, CHARLI, Ocuin and Realm. Our nights aim to showcase a love of varying sounds, as is the case with our label, Spilt Milk. 

A bit more about each of the tracks - CHARLI’s 'Toska' harks back to the halcyon days of peak Anjunadeep, dreamy deep house delivered with deftness. A vocal sample from Camilla Cabello is used to fine effect and is supported by wistful minor chords which carry an enveloping arpeggio to its gradual resting place. Here we find another beautiful motif, all sunsets and palm trees, underpinned by Charli's penchant for broken beats.


Taking you straight to the stratosphere with crisp, echoed percussion ornamented with spacedust, Ocuin’s ‘Gucci Piggies’ develops into a strong groove with a weaving bassline that ducks in and then out again. Punchy kicks and shimmering synths pay homage to Ocuin's early love of trance, with the great 'Xpander' making its presence known.


Realm is fast establishing a signature sound, and ‘Cala’ is further evidence of what he is about. Syncopated percussion with biting snares and a thumping kick underpin an ominous bassline, painting a dark vista that slowly creeps upward toward a crescendo. An undulating arpeggio cracks the darkness, shining through as a beacon, walking proud as it refuses to be swallowed up in the rhythmic cacophony.
