Disparate producers with complimentary sounds, Evil Needle and Sivey met in an online beat community 6 years ago and to this day have never met in real life. On June 24, 2014 they present their first official EP, 'Constructive Interference', to the world. 'Constructive Interference' was created over the span of 3 years and embodies the unique soundscapes of each producer. 

Today, we are excited to share with you the single, "Constructive Interference" - a dreamy, bass-heavy, broken beat jam that really nicely sums up the feel of the collaborative sounds between Evil Needle & Sivey. 

Evil Needle, based in Strasbourg France [just on the border of Germany] pulls inspiration from traditional hip hop, neo-soul and trap music while seamlessly weaving in open synths and chunky chord progressions. Manchester, UK-based Sivey incorporates soulful beat-oriented music with what he calls "emotional highs and lows that are still musically stimulating" adding a beautifully uptempo sensibility.

The two come together to create a big sound vibration that is reminiscent of the round sound of vinyl – this time in a digital version.

Evil Needle & Sivey - "Constructive Interference"

I'm pleased to announce THE LIQUID AMBER EP. This single/EP serves as the opening salvo in what I hope is a long string of music, by myself and others, on my new imprint: LIQUID AMBER. There's two new songs, "Ghost Town" and "Mob," and a nifty remix of "Six Days" by Machinedrum.

"Ghost Town" is an ambitious ride through many of the micro-genres within the Future Bass umbrella that have inspired me recently, while "Mob" is an intentionally stripped-down, Cali-certified head-nodder. Both songs were written, programmed, and mixed by myself, and they represent the forward steps I feel I've taken as an engineer. The "Six Days" remix was something I asked Machinedrum to knock out as a tour weapon, and he crushed it (naturally), so I felt it deserved a proper release.

I'm excited about this music and the new imprint, and I really appreciate everyone's time and consideration.

"No Half Smokin'" was a B-side cut on the "Print Is Goin' Off" 7-inch vinyl release, which dropped around the same time as the "1988" album. Both songs were reinterpretations of 80's Hip-Hop classics; Big Daddy Kane's "Ain't No Half-Steppin'" and Biz Markie's "Biz Is Goin' Off", respectively. The original songs were both released on the Cold Chillin' label, so the labels for this 7-inch were also reinterpreted to mimic the 12" single labels on those original Cold Chillin' releases.
