Ozan Karatasli discovered his affinity for music at a young age. By the time he was 14, he was already well versed with a variety of music genres and his library was ever growing. In 2006 he started his career by DJing at many different clubs. Wanting to elevate his DJing performance, he attended and completed his training at Pioneer Pro DJ Academy in 2009. He has been DJing professionally ever since, currently residing and working in Cesme/izmir.

About this edit :
What I love in creating musics are the connections that comes in time and space plus the emotions that were moving in that conjunction. I normally name any new projects with the date of the day I start it. Looking back to the folder,  I’ve discovered that this edit is exactly from one year ago, 28 October 2020. So, last year, in this week I was spending my time on it without having any plans and not really knowing if one day I would have share it. These days I have recovered it and sent as a free gift to all my newsletter contacts; later Mr. Don Mescal knocked my door proposing the free downloading thought Cosmovision Familia channel and here it comes for all of you! hope you enjoy the mood!

 few days ago was my father's birthday and I want dedicate this free tune to him that has been all time supporting me in what I love to do.

About the song :
“St. James Infirmary Blues” is an American folksong of anonymous origin, though sometimes credited to the songwriter Joe Primrose (a pseudonym for Irving Mills). Louis Armstrong made it famous in his influential 1928 recording.

There are hundreds of recordings and it has been difficult to choose my favourites. I’ve tried to pick some for their historic significance and some just because they are so incredibly good.

“St. James Infirmary” is based on an 18th-century traditional English folk song called “The Unfortunate Rake” (also known as “The Unfortunate Lad” or “The Young Man Cut Down in His Prime”), about a soldier who uses his money on prostitutes, and then dies of a venereal disease.
I went down to St. James Infirmary
To see my baby there,
She was lyin' on a long white table,
So sweet, so cool, so fair.

Went up to see the doctor,
"She's very low," he said;
Went back to see my baby
Good God! She's lying there dead.

I went down to old Joe's barroom,

About this edit:
African music has been very inspiring to me for many years, there is something about it that I connect deeply with, I feel it in my spirit. I love to listen to it all the time, I love to learn the guitar rhythms and melodies, it gives me a lot of ideas for my music.
I came across this song recently and fell in love with the vocal and simple yet beautiful guitar melody. I felt that it had a very authentic and honest feeling. I researched the song and found out that N'Gou recorded this album in his house with his wife and daughter singing in the 1970's in Bougouni, Mali. I felt this was a beautiful vibration that I would love to share in my sets so I decided to make this edit. I hope you enjoy! About this edit:
Ibrahim Ferrer is a legendary Salsa singer from Cuba. He was a member of the band Los Bocucos and was re-discovered after many years as part of the Cuban salsa supergroup Buena Vista Social Club. His voice and melodies are hauntingly beautiful and instantly recognizable. It was a pleasure paying tribute to his amazing legacy though this edit of his song “Silencio” recorded with the great Omara Portuondo.

This past year I’ve fallen in love with some old musica andina from Uruguay, including the famous duos Los Olimareños and Los Hacheros.  This beautiful song with its haunting harmonies lodged itself in my head immediately…I gave it a slow house revision with cumbia percussion and added some shimmering synths to complement the original strings.

'' Passionate about travel, music and cultures of the world, especially African and South American, I discovered this original in 2017 when it was released.
This edit is a tribute to the Afro-Brazilian culture in which I spent 3 years of my life, including 5 months in Sao Paulo in 2013. I found the original by chance in my playlist, it gave me smile and joy. During these 2 months of confinement, I started playing the guitar again and replay some pieces of my adolescence.
I missed this relationship with the instrument and reminded me of my beginnings of passion for music and creative freedom.
