The sun's coming up through my clouded head
It's lighting my way to another pay cheque
Keep telling myself what I need to hear to make it through
Aching bones and a stomach upset,
Caffeine kicks feed a nervous twitch
But I wouldn't want for anything

It's when I drop, that I feel myself again
It's been too long before giving in
And it blocked me in my tracks just to make it stop
But when I drop, I feel myself again

Tired and empty, laying in bed
Counting the hours passed by too fast
Trying my best not to fail the test and make it through
Control is slipping through my hands,
Running away completely.
I'm hiding away from the trivial things

It's when I drop, that I feel myself again
It's been too long before giving in

I'm taking back what I had lost
Head is spinning round the clock
And while the world is failing
I'll be ready and waiting

This time I'll try to face my fears
Try to be brave and cover it
Somehow it always ends in tears 
How will I ever overcome?

In time I learned to turn away
Some say that it's easier to pretend
That's misguided, it just comes back again
When you're hanging around asking for it

And you could leave it all behind if you wanted to

Time stands still when I watch daybreak
Standing up on the top it's so easy to see

This time I'll try to face my fears
Try to be brave and cover it
Somehow it always ends in tears 
How will I ever overcome?

With hindsight seen, I guess I've been away
Now I'm moving along to a better place
Decided to take control
Then I won't be dragged back down again

Just leave it all behind like I wanted to
