bellydance

Danyavaad plays live original Middle Eastern flavored music featuring the electric sitar and tribal drum beats. They create an atmosphere of Middle Eastern lounge mixed with Indian vibes and rock. The unique songs are originals by vocalist/sitarist Greg Vaughan, percussionist Gabriel Penix, and DJ/bassist Sandy Bagri.

The Shimmy Sisters (Leilainia and Adelaide) embellish aspects of creativity and art in their inspiring bellydance performances. Their diverse show may include snakes, swords, candles, fire fingers, isis wings, glow hula hoops, and traditional bellydance props such as veils and zils. They were born into a culture of creativity by their bellydancing mother and artist/musician father.

10 March of the Gypsies

The Indigo Belly Dance Company is a tribal fusion style belly dance company that was based in San Francisco. It was founded by Rachel Brice in 2003. Its members include Brice, Mardi Love, and Zoe Jakes. Past members include Sharon Kihara, Ariellah Aflalo, Janice Solimeno, and Michelle Campbell. Many of these dancers currently teach and perform internationally, and have also appeared with Bellydance Superstars.
2007 marked The Indigo's first full-length, vaudeville inspired, touring show, Le Serpent Rouge, presented by Miles Copeland III, which toured for two years.
The Indigo officially disbanded in 2013 so the individual members could pursue solo careers, but they still work together for occasional projects. Rachel Brice went on to open a school, Datura, in Portland, Oregon. Zoe Jakes routed all her creative energy into Beats Antique, and Mardi Love moved to the South and makes high-end jewelry.

Danyavaad and the Shimmy Sisters is a Gypsy Rock and Bellydance group.  In addition to performing with baby sitar, electric bass, violin and percussion, we also use a traditional wood Saz from Turkey, acoustic guitars and acoustic bass (along with violin and hand drums).  We have performed all over the country at clubs, restaurants, theaters, festivals, and bellydance conventions.  

We also performed and had our music featured in the EMMY Award winning short film "Anything But Frogs,” and our original music was used on "Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills." We have been featured on "America's Got Talent". Our show is very unique, in addition to the 4 piece band we usually have at least 2 bellydancers (The Shimmy Sisters) that perform with swords, candles, snakes, and fire.  It is appropriate for all audiences and we are good at catering to any crowd, as we often do corporate events and private parties.  We are interested in being a part of your event.
