Dagfest [da:g fɛst] is the Swedish word for day party and that is what the duo have dedicated themselves to make - the perfect Dagfest.
With the perfect blend of emotional pop, pulsating bass lines, shiny disco and a 707 the duo transforms the musical journey to a place in the sun.

Members Patricio Cabezas and Mats Lundgren consists of equal parts producers and crate diggers. Inspired by a vast range of synths and a miscellaneous record collection their exposure to a broad musical diet are clearly heard in their dj-sets which smoothly moves the dance floor through different styles. The result is rich and varied sets that always surprises.

Together with the community Gläntan they also throw underground parties, intimate and with house party vibes.

Characterized by a wide range of genres Dagfest is not unambiguous or easy to define. But one thing is for sure, it’s sticky.

On Sticky Swedish duo Dagfest bring a breezy, summer festival-ready release infused with plenty of vintage synths over the course of five original tracks.

Opening proceedings is Spacer Love Samba, a slow, upbeat slice of italo disco with a raw bassline and fuzzy synth loops that makes for a great mood warmer. Imagination blends elements of synth pop and italo into a lush and laid back slice. Also on the romantic side, Baby, I don’t know delivers low key euphoria in the form of a zig zagging bassline with low slung vocals. Punchy kicks announce Night Thoughts, a floor filler that captivates with its upbeat energy and elastic bassline. Equally compelling, but on a slower note, Chasing rounds off the release with a touch of melancholy.

Music has always been a major part of the life of Danilo Braca aka danyb. His father was an avid record collector of rock & roll and r&b from the 50’s and 60’s, and a collector of vintage musical instruments. He founded the first Hi Fidelity magazine in Italy in the early 70’s and was an obvious influence on Danilo’s choice of a career path. 

This early exposure to all things musical led Danilo to build his own music collection very early on, and to confidently start mixing for parties in Perugia at the age of13, just around the time of the burgeoning popularity of house music. Many opportunities followed until he found himself playing at major local clubs like Etoile 54, Bibos or DejaVu. His career then moved further along, allowing him to play in Rome, Bologna, Florence, Treviso and many other cities around Italy, followed by international credits such as Cuba, Dominican Republic, Canada, Spain, France or the famous Air Club in Tokyo. 

An autodidact with an obvious passion for new technologies and a gift for mastering computer programs, Danilo also became highly skilled in the field of Sound Engineering (live mixing and studio recording & editing) and Music Production. 

The combination of his depth of music knowledge and technical skills led him to design and create a continually operating web radio station, TSoNYC, The Sound of New York City. The name of the radio refers to a specific genre of dance music, that Danilo always had a keen interest and taste for, based on the history of New York’s clubs like Paradise Garage and The Loft (with their protagonists Larry Levan and David Mancuso) and by extension the influence of Chicago (with The Warehouse and The Music Box, where Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy created the house music movement). The sophisticatedly elaborated radio program combines a large selection of rare Disco, Funk, Soul & electronic music representing Danilo’s unique collection, as well as guest DJ mixes. Some of TSoNYC’s collaborators and featured artists include renowned DJ/producers like Frankie Knuckles, Ashley Beedle, Sadar Bahar, DJ Spinna, DJ Rocca, Hector Romero or LTJ Xperience 

Through the creation of TSoNYC, Danilo hopes to bring various generations of music and people together and spread the discovery and rediscovery of quality sounds through events and podcasts.
