Get Physical Music serves up a final EP taken from Thandi Draai's standout Africa Gets Physical Vol. 4 compilation, due for release in January 2022.

The mix is an in-depth and authoritative insight into the current African house scene and its major players. It has been assembled by a leading voice, Thandi Draai, and features a number of the vocalist's own tracks. But first comes this five-track Various Artists EP.

Khensy & Cuebur open up with 'Huwelelani,' an epic, seven-minute spiritual awakening. The vocals stir your soul, the deep-rooted drums are earthy and tribal and the synths bring cosmic rays of light. Atmos Blaq is next up with a remix of Thandi Draai's 'Iris' which is a chunky roller with a late-night sense of mischief. Whispered vocals lend the track a sense of intimacy despite the grandeur of the synths. Shona SA & Sazi Cele's 'Sekukude' keeps the spine-tingling deep house sounds rolling with more exquisite pads and Afro vocals all unfolding next to thoughtful chords.

Un_nown & Zikhona link up to great effect on 'Sikelela' which layers shiny and loopy synths in with tribal percussion and pounding kicks that get you marching. Another deeply affecting vocal lights up the whole track and last of all comes Drega & Maline Aura's 'Mama Dear.' There is a beauty to the deftness of the synths and dreamy melodies of this one that sends you off in a loved-up reverie, full of hope and optimism.

This EP shows that the South African scene has never been more vibrant than it is now.

When we received this EP from the talented Atmos Blaq, we knew he had put himself into a specific category for #AfricanElectronicMusic. The Republic Of Atmofrika is a dynamic Afro Tech EP that showcases the growth of the talented Atmos Blaq from his original release under the label 'The Atmosverse.'

Taking you on a Journey from South Africa, Atmos Blaq opens up with The Republic of Atmofrika. Reminding everyone who he is and what he brings when he creates his Afro Tech. This track encompasses the raw baseline and sweet synths to compliment a rise in how he sees Afro Tech. Balancing between Soul and Tech, this one is for the Dancefloor. 

Next, we have Venusians, the people we believe come from Venus. This track has a wide-ranging Tech Synth complemented by a sweet baseline. This Melodic track stands out as this production is New to Atmos and was the track that caught our attention. The Melodic Chants allow the way to fit into any Tech or House set across every Genre.

The final track, 'Mi Viaje' Translating from Spanish into My Journey, allows Atmos Blaq to express a different side to his usual Afro Tech. The laid-back Soulful Tech track gives the listener vibes with melodic chants and a baseline that never ends. Compellingly closing his EP, only a sub can express the quality created.

We see Atmos Blaq's growth using Synths, allowing you to settle into the EP.

SCI+TEC celebrates a pivotal moment in its history with the release of "I Feel Speed (2025 Remixes)" , a special project revisiting one of Dubfire's earliest solo works and one of the label's foundational releases. Originally released in 2007, Dubfire's cover of Love and Rockets' "I Feel Speed" marked a bold venture into uncharted territory, with the Grammy-winning artist taking on vocal duties himself to reimagine the iconic ballad.

In Dubfire's own words, "Throughout my career, I've made no secret of my love—bordering on worship—for Love and Rockets (and, of course, Bauhaus). Tackling their soft ballad 'I Feel Speed' in 2007 was a daunting but transformative experience. Over the years, fans and colleagues have kept their love for that cover alive, which makes this new remix package even more meaningful. " 

This release brings together a stellar list of artists, each offering a distinctive interpretation of the classic. Stephan Bodzin adds his signature emotive touch, while Yulia Niko dives deep into hypnotic textures. SNYL, whose admiration for the original track sparked the project, delivers a rework that strikes a balance between reverence and reinvention. Rafael Cerato and Laherte craft a dynamic reinterpretation, and indie dance pioneer Erol Alkan offers a genre-blurring remix full of energy and innovation. "I Feel Speed (2025 Remixes)" is a testament to Dubfire's enduring legacy, the timeless influence of Love and Rockets, and SCI+TEC's continued role as a beacon of innovation in electronic music.
