We are delighted to commence our journey curating Orbita, our online mix series dedicated to exploring sounds by the hand of a diverse bunch of talented international artists. 

For our first installment we are beyond excited to present to you a very special contribution, by our dear friend Polygonia. A tense buildup and strong atmosphere made to lure you into a percussive vortex that will spit you out into the depths of a dark and humid rainforest. Surrender yourself to a ritual sacrifice guided by Polygonia’s rythmical precision and sensibility.

Polygonia is a multitalented artist based in Munich, where she runs the formidable record label IO together with her crew. Her sound is driven by a mystic, deep and organic character enriched by her studies in various acoustic instruments. She has repeatedly demonstrated to be a force to be reckoned with through her impeccable body of work released on some of the finest labels around. Don’t miss out on a chance to see her perform in a club or festival near you, she will masterfully blow you away.

Orbita 01 - Polygonia

After belonging to the Move and Skyzoo Spanish collectives in the mid-90s, Fran Campos (@fran-campos) became part in the 2000's of the team of residents of Le Club and in the organization of the Observatori festival . In 2010 begins Black Label, a monthly party at Miniclub, where, for 5 years, he unveiled his Housier side. Then he was busy with his residency at Jerusalem Club, Caravaca (Proper Club), and with the organization and residency of the Taiga parties in Madrid, betting on contemporary Techno with a deep character. Currently, he continues to be interested in the most avant-garde musical currents that Techno hosts, from Ambient to Deep Techno, through Electro, Halftime, and even D&B. Always selecting the best music at the periphery of the industry.

We're happy to be back with our mix series. This time we have a session by Parisian artist BLNDR (Hypnus Records) with a sophisticated and meticulous selection, immersing us in an hour of deep and tribal techno, which is his specialty. Tom is a close friend of the label who made an incredible remix of MB4, one of the tracks that are part of Seph's album entitled Ulizen.

Electronic musician and guitarist, Sun Dawei is a very active composer in China. He started learning guitar at the age of fourteen, and later formed a punk band, which became the catalyst for him to open the door to music. Settled in Beijing in 1999, then began research and creation of electronic music, and at the same time began to dabble in Fashion Show, film, drama and commercial soundtrack work. After several transformations, in order to explore different music spaces. He announced a new musician project - CTAFAD.
In 2020, "Vertical Horizontal" was published on "Shanshui Music". In this album, you can hear "the original sound without too much modification, the sense of space like the atmosphere, and the ambitious ultrasonic experiment. In the end, an epic The core sound field has been carefully polished. The rhythm and bass line are proficient in interaction from the beginning, gradually unfolding and never extinguishing." In the subsequent release of "Vertical Horizontal Extended" and other EP albums, CTAFAD invited Claudio PRC, Blazej Malinowski, Atomic Moog, Polygonia, Laertes and IORI participated in the remix of the album.
A new music-making journey is driven by inner passion and exploration, collaboration and development. Slowly began to emerge in many foreign Techno labels. Danza Nativa Invites 028 - Kyntral

Cio D’Or hardly requires an introduction, having long stood as both a pillar of our scene and a source of inspiration for so many. Over the course of her singular and decades-spanning career, the Cologne-based artist has cultivated a universe of sound entirely her own, immediately recognizable yet endlessly evolving much like the work of her contemporaries and collaborators Mike Parker and Donato Dozzy. To experience Cio’s music is to follow a throughline that traces the complex history of contemporary techno in a single gesture, compelled by the vast unknown and the primordial familiar in equal measure. Recalling the blurred realism of Richter’s photo-paintings or the timeless intricacy of Bach’s fugues, Cio’s self-contained sonic world delicately reframes our own precious lifecycle, a reflection revealed through its elegant and subtractive minimalism.

In collaboration with our friends at Mostra, I’m honored to share a selection from Cio D’Or’s set performed at this year’s edition of the Barcelona-based festival, a sublime triumph from a scholar of sound.

Many of you will need no introduction to the music of Primal Code, the Italian duo who have conjured up a storm of stunning releases on labels such as Hypnus, The Gods Planet, and Konstrukt in relatively short order. We first connected over their gorgeous, then-unreleased track "Morgana," and since then it's been a pleasure watching them develop their natural and introspective sound, each release as polished and inspiring as the last. I'm so happy to welcome them to the podcast and what they've sent is pure delight, an emerald  evocation of sun-pierced woods and the clearing of the morning mist. Enjoy!
