Nico Parisi, Monotique and Franco La Cara join forces once again on Bonzai Progressive with a follow-up to their 2021 single - Pulsar, titled I Need A Woman. The trio have formed a formidable partnership, generating tremendous results in the studio. Their combined experience and creative minds shake up the progressive arena and we've no doubt they'll be making waves for some time to come.

The Original Mix opens the release, unleashing a perfect balance between warmth and drive. Lush basses and crispy hats contrast beautifully as smooth rhythms flow through the groove. Rich voices and gritty stabs combine, working their magic, making this one a definite must have. Paul Hamilton follows up his superb remix for Madan's Child of Mine with a solid interpretation. Always an exciting time having Paul here at BP so get ready to have your set given an injection of quality with this one. Here, Paul takes the groove that little bit deeper, building a solid foundation with tight beats, shuffling percussions and bubbling basses. Captivating voices mesmerize as delicate arps stack up against tougher pads, perfect fodder for the late-night session. Rounding out the release, we welcome the impressive Seth Vogt back to BP on remix duties, and this one follows his last effort on the remix for Orphix's Gemology. Known for his outside-the-box creativity, Seth brings his distinct brand to the label once again and we always look forward to his latest offerings. The remix here ramps up the energy a notch or two. Powerful and driving, with airy pads and wispy voices, the groove is laid out on a bed of infectious basses with tension mounting throughout. A series of short build ups and climaxes keep the body moving to make this one an absolute stomper for the floors.

Our next release on Bonzai Progressive comes from one of our most prolific artists, Nico Parisi. His newest effort – Solo, is the latest in a long line of top-quality cuts. His steadfast dedication and attention to the detail is his sound is truly admirable as once again we are treated to a showcase of his talent in true progressive style. His last outing here – I Need A Woman, was in collaboration with Monotique and Franco La Cara, and the guys are back with Nico here, providing 2 superb remixes.

Nico Parisi - Solo (Original)

We welcome South Wales based music production group Robot Monkey to Bonzai Progressive with the superb debut slice titled, Coagulate, which also features stunning vocals from singer/songwriter Bec Garthwaite. Since the group was created, they have injected their unique, organic twist into the underground dance scene. They come from a background in DJing throughout the 90's, in places like Ministry Of Sound and Miss Moneypenny's in the UK and as far afield as Australia and Fiji. The percussionist in the group brings a dynamic to the performances, creating that unique flavour they hold. Bec is widely known for putting fine detail into her songwriting which accompanies her expert fingerpicked guitar playing. She creates melancholic melodies with her dreamlike voice and this translates beautifully into a deep, progressive house setting. Great to have them on board at BP.
First up we have the Original Mix which explores a dark progressive path with a punchy groove and strong, probing bass at its core. A mysterious and inviting vocal adds an intriguing narrative that shifts and changes with the emotive mood of the groove. Top-notch stuff. Nico Parisi and Franco La Cara continue their fine run of studio collabs, rounding out this release with a solid remix where they deliver that special sound, we've become accustomed to. The interpretation here adds an epic flavour to the groove, taking us deeper into the progressive abyss. A deep, rolling bassline and dystopian, grungy synths contrast with wispy pads. The guys have used the vocal beautifully here, offering it prominence in the mix which transforms the narrative and blends effortlessly into the groove. Deep and dark, this one is perfect fodder for the late-night sessions.

Nico Parisi and Franco La Cara join forces once again with the superb Guardian Angel which comprises seven tracks covering progressive house and melodic techno. Both Nico and Franco have been stalwarts for Bonzai Progressive over the years, delivering quality cuts on solo and collaboration projects. It's safe to say we always get excited when they get into the studio together and we've no doubt the partnership will continue for many years.

Guardian Angel is a sublime, mini-album concept featuring seven perfectly balanced tracks. The release opens with the aptly titled, One, which eases us into a smooth melodic techno groove bedecked with dark, moody tones and contrasting euphoric sequences. Solar is up next, taking us straight into a powerful proggy groove right from the get go. Chunky beats, sharp hats and striking plucky basses drive this one, alongside beautifully crafted melodic patterns. Farfalla is next and sticks with the progressive vibes, offering up a smoother, more defined and rich sound that captivates from start to finish. Buoyant beats and pulsing basses combine to deliver a fluid groove which is topped off with colourfully modulated synths. At the midway point, we find the tougher edged melodic techno grooves of Waves. A super tight construction filled with exotic percussions and punchy kicks which lay the foundation for a driving bassline and mesmerizing arpeggio melody. Gritty synths add strength and texture, making this one a definite floor mover. Staying on the melodic techno tip, Pressure heralds in another rock-solid groove destined to work the floors. A more atmospheric number, thanks to bright synth plucks and converging melodies, the track is powered by a thick, infectious bassline and timely beats that keep things moving nicely. Dynamic is next, continuing that driving theme with a powerful bassline which is prominent from the off. Punchy beats and manicured percussions set the rhythm loose as mesmerizing arpeggios cascade through the sound. Expertly crafted FX enhance the sound while distinctive melodic techno synths take over. Health concludes the release, taking us back to progressive mode for the finale. Carving out a surreal, chunky groove, the track is adorned with wonderment and intrigue. A deep, rumbling bassline dominated as percolating synth lines blend effortlessly with exotic percussions and punchy beats. On the break, the groove evokes an emotional response with poignant melodics and brighter tones. The perfect ending to a fine slice of work by Nico and Franco.

The label was founded in 2006 by Nico Parisi . The result of this label was the debut release 'Metro'. This became a continental hit with DJs around the world promoting the release. With support from important and credible DJs worldwide such as Armin Van Buuren (who made the track a Tune of the week on his A State of Trance radio show and played it on his Radio 1 Essential Mix in the UK), the track quickly sold hundreds of copies. In 2023 the track 'Metro' was covered again by Kevin De Vries and MauP, it was released in July 2023 on the Afterlife label. The track became a world hit and was immediately the most played track of Tomorrowland 2023 and Ibiza. It was number 1 on beatport for weeks The label's main ethos is to release quality music. Danza Records is a young label from Belgium that insists on delivering high-quality material. All tracks so far have received strong DJ support.
