بارها شهر قصه را شنيده ام.  انگار بيژن مفيد ، از تمام قصه هاى دل مردمان اين شهر خبر داشته و همه را به بهترين شكل بازگفته است . 
قطعه ى حاضر كه برداشتى آزاد از ملودى آواز  موش شهر قصه است (كه به گفته ى گوينده در شهر كارى جز عاشق شدن ندارد )، بيان حسى است كه درقالب بداهه و  به صورت تجربى شكل گرفته ، و ملودى هاى ديگر نيز از حسى مشترك برامده كه بيانگر همان مفهومى است كه دل را بارها سوزانده و ديگر انگار چيزى جز خاكستر باقى نگذاشته . چه بيژن مفيد نوشته باشد ، چه شجريان خوانده باشد ، چه محمدرضا لطفى در مقدمه ى اصفهانش نواخته باشد ، همه يك حس مشترك دارند كه دلى كه سوخت و خاكستر شد ، ديگر آن دل سابق نمى شود .
