House of Hustle is proud to present our Two Tails' debut album "Vicky”. When James pitched us the idea, we were immediately intrigued. Throughout the years he has consistently brought us quality tunes, and we are happy to say, this 13-track album, never dips below the quality we've come to expect from him.

In fact, James blew us away, with the sheer quality he managed to compile on "Vicky." The pandemic turned out to be a catalyst for James. Whilst one track existed before the pandemic, the other 12 were fully produced during the lockdown, a great way to make the most out of a time of global uncertainty. The album includes a number of exciting collaborations with talented artists such as Anna Brinckmann, Colossi Rah, Hot Pot, Aylene, CARZi, Contribe, Lucy Knox, ChrisKhaos and Story Of One. Each of them brings a unique flavor to this gem of a production.

‘Vicky’ certainly is a testament to James' versatility, productivity and quality as a producer. The balance between tracks that explore the boundaries of electronic music, and the surefire bassy bangers that are present on "Vicky", make this an easy pickup. We're entirely sure you'll enjoy this collection of creative eruptions as much as we have.

Weird story behind this track.  Here it goes...This all happened back in January of this year (2019).  The first tune I heard that got me into bass house music was Expect Us - Welcome To The Basement [BOX OF CATS].  I first heard it on their Lost Catalog comp that dropped January 10th of this year (2019).  I was so inspired by that insane bass line, I just had to see if I had the skills to recreate that exact same sound on my own.  At the same time, my boy Torrfisk was kicking around these vocals he had recorded for a collaboration with Teknicoz on tune they produced called Medicine (released this week 10/24/19 on Sweets & Treats).  He threw them my way.  I had the project open so I dropped the vocals on top and then crushed out this tune....and voila...we have this oddly inspired banger. What is the Perfect Driver Tour Bus? 

We would like to be the first independent dance music record label to take our show on the road. Literally. With help from supporters, label-head Matthew Anthony will be customizing a Sprinter Van to pick up artists in one city to play shows in the next while remote operating the label in an ongoing Perfect Driver tour. See link to crowd-funding campaign below.

Our goal is to give Perfect Driver artists and fans a one of a kind experience. A #VanLife styled road trip where the DJ plays shows in big cities, small towns and everywhere in between, all while producing music in a mobile recording studio. Picture the Perfect Driver high-top Sprinter Van at a local art show or skate park with artists performing from the back. Or our #DJsAndCooking web-series broadcasting live from festivals. Imagine pit stops in National Parks while documenting artist & industry conversations on YouTube or Patreon for subscribers. Our plan includes playing quarterly shows in major markets.

If you're a Perfect Driver artist, we want to bring you on the road. If you're a show promoter or venue, we want to talk about working together. A pair of smooth tempered, groove heavy club tunes that are ripe with character and round with rhythm. 

“Into the mind, I creep” boasts the vocal sample in Creeper, as the bass & beat interplay like experience and expectation. The wailing portamento raising urgency like a distant air raid siren.  Under Pressure also lifts vocal sampling into new realms with it’s vacant stanza breaking into cadence around the sub lead rhythm. Both sides of this release display an intelligent blend of groove and atmosphere in classic examples of why we treasure Double Agent as one of Medium Rare Recordings’ prime talents.
