Live recording of Kokhlos V, a work from my media opera with texts by Lance Olsen from his novel "Dreamlives of Debris". The work is part of the Kokhlos series, which overlays music for voices and ensemble with a soundtrack of electronic sounds. The structure of the composition is modeled on the functions of the inner ear. The 3 voices (Nicholas Isherwood (bass), Steven Bradshaw (tenor) and Rebecca Meyers (soprano) make use of overtone singing and multiphonics, giving a unique sound. The electronic part was realized by Adam Vidiksis, produced by the Algo.Institute. From a concert in Philadelphia on Nov. 5, 2017 featuring Ensemble N_JP and the cellist Jason Calloway.
