L’Italia è a un passo dalla sconfitta quando sul dischetto arriva Roberto Baggio, “Il Codino”. È la nostra ultima speranza di restare in gioco. Sappiamo tutti come andò a finire. Ma cosa sarebbe potuto accadere se le cose fossero andate diversamente, se quel pallone anziché andare alto sulla traversa avesse gonfiato la rete? In questa selezione di rigori sbagliati dalla nazionale italiana nel corso degli ultimi quarant’anni assistiamo a un ribaltamento degli avvenimenti, un esercizio emotivo in cui le cose cambiano e quel che è successo è diverso da quanto ricordiamo. Quei rigori mancati, quegli errori determinanti rinascono restituendo a chi ascolta la gioia di un rito collettivo officiato e confermato dal boato della folla.

Registrazione effettuata in terrazza a Roma durante il lockdown per COVID19, il 16 Marzo 2020. 

“Everyday at 6pm people go on their balconies or terraces and start singing. Everyday a different song, today was ‘Volare’ by Domenico Modugno. 

In this recording you can hear kids singing and applauding, bells from the nearby church, birds tweeting, a train (I live close to a small railway station – trains come and go most of the time almost empty). I have to say that in these days I like the sound of the train more then ever.”
