March Synth WIP

So, I hooked up two synthesizers...a Radioshack from the 90's and a Yamaha mid-size from the 80's with the in/out cables. They were also hooked up to a tascam interface which recorded directly into Audacity. The 90's Radioshack synthesizer was interpreting the sounds from the Yamaha, and made them rather afro sounding. This is just a sample.

Another sample in progress. I set the synth to a trip hop setting and worked with fingered chords. I set it up to directly record using a tascam interface and audacity. There is no manipulation yet.

Alex Plays While I Cook

Ah, my very first attempt at the Industrial Cello.  All the cello parts were played by yours truly. The synth and synth drums were played by my friend Alex.  It's kind of like a sample of what's to come.  It's not a terribly coherent song at the moment.  

Next time, we'll be isolating the sounds, and recording each of the instruments SEPARATELY, and maybe sticking some of that back into the synth.

Rise of the Cello 1.0

Imagine an acoustic nylon string guitar with a pickup playing a funky bio blues guitar riff and a cello with a pickup playing haunting minor scales in accompaniment.

More to come. I have a keyboard/synthesizer now!  So far you hear a Tibetan singing bowl, a keyboard, and a cello. Just the beginning. Inspired by Phillip Glass.

New song I am working on. Let's just say I've been listening to a lot of Zoe Keating, so its really ambient. I also learned how to use bit crusher in a song.

I am wondering what other kind of instrumentation I should try out with this. Suggestions are appreciated!

Today it has never stopped raining. I think I got 3 flash flood warnings on my cell phone. This is a work in progress, but guess what, no effects!! I think I'm getting better at actually PLAYING the cello!

Hello there!

I am Daring Danielle!  I have a solid foundation in studio art and education! Music and storytelling are other loves of mine. I like to sample sounds, play the cello and keyboard, among other random instruments, and mix everything together in a  musical blender.

My sound cloud account will mainly be experiments from my own project, "The Industrial Cello", or a soundtrack that's supposed to go along with a sci/fi/fantasy book project, "The War of the Magicians".
