TRAXSOURCE LIVE! Sessions was born out of the need to share even more artists and music with you. The one-hour show format chosen to allow enough time for the artist’s essence to shine through and for you, our Traxsource family to get a flavor of their sound, label and general vibe. Once a week. Every week.

This week however, is one of those weeks where we get to buck that trend. We’ve gone off piste. To celebrate the release of Rob Paine & David Martson’s new track - ‘All The Way Far Away’ - feat. the iconic sounds of Lady Alma (available exclusively from Traxsource, might we add) it was only fitting that we present to you not one, but two hours of music!

Rob Paine steers the ship for the first hour - founder of Worship Recordings back in 1998 - his productions are often found on the likes of Large Music, Yoruba Records amongst others. Expect a 60 minute ride reflective of his diverse musical tastes: Detroit Swindle, Black Loops, Low Steppa and Kevin McKay + more.

Taking the wheel for the second hour, hailing from Jamaica - David Marston is a DJ, producer, musician and one mean guitarist. With productions released on Future Disco, Kindness of Bearer Recordings, Wolf + Lamb - David’s sonic palette spans tempos and genres with effortless ease. During his hour expect cuts from Osunlade, Zito Mowa, ARTWORK, Life On Planets + more.

Much can be said about Agent 818 (Nohe Gomez) as an extraordinary artist. A seasoned DJ, together as an innovative producer is what makes Agent 818 an immense MUST hear talent. Born and raised in Southern California, he found his passion for DJ’ing at age 15, and has been committed since. As a recording engineer student at the University of California Los Angeles, he evolved as an artist with a taste for creative exploration. Agent 818 is credited with a broad range of projects, ranging from sound design to scoring for film. His ventures have proved him to be dynamic as a diverse artist. Behind his drive is an ongoing passion for stepping behind the decks. “To me, spinning can be as creative as producing & remixing, DJ’ing is part of what draws me into making music” he says. Agent 818 cites Armand Van Helden, Ben Watt, DJ Quik, Dr. Dre, Steely Dan & The Cure as some of his biggest influences. He says he pulls his creativity from his exposure to the Los Angeles urban elements, anywhere from the Hollywood after-hour scene, to driving to the beaches of southern California sitting in traffic and taking in the LA scenic views of graffiti decorated buildings. With his true passion for real Jack’n underground House music, Agent 818 is a must see DJ in action.

Sicario has been rocking crowds from coast to coast for the last 20+ yrs. Sicario started out in the Drum & Bass seen back in the early 90's and continued to smash it everywhere he went. Until his 1st year of University, when he went and saw Hippe & Halo and then he was bitten again by the house bug. Over the years Sicario has played along side Jason Hodges, Hatiras, Flipside, Demuir to name a few and has always been consider a JACK MASTER. Playing other peoples music for other peoples enjoyment since 1993.

Darius is a self proclaimed "House Addict".  He fell in love with the house sound as a teenager living in Montreal back in the early '90s when he would stay up late on Friday nights and record a dance mix show on Montreal radio.  He was hooked from then on.  He then proceeded to start mixing with one tape deck and a CD player and never looked back.  

When he moved to Vancouver in the late '90's, he started buying records almost daily and spent most of his free time at his favourite record stores at the time, Bassix and Mekanix records.  Over the next few years, Darius held various residencies and ran 2 club nights in Vancouver, playing alongside such talent as Lawnchair Generals and Johnny Fiasco, as well as playing at numerous after hours and raves.   After getting tired of both the late nights and politics in the scene, he decided it was time to hang up the headphones in the early 2000s, but the love of house music still burned inside of him as the years passed. 

In 2013 he decided he wanted to get back into DJ'ing and purchased a basic Pioneer controller and started to collect digital tracks again.  Over the past few years Darius has been busy making a name for himself in the underground scene with numerous guest mix appearances around the world on such labels as House Salad, Reason2Funk, Uglyhouse, Little Routine, Selecta Music, Leven Underground and House Jet Radio just to name a few.  He also started the very popular "SPEED BUMPS" mix series which showcases his love for hip hop and jazz as he shows his versatility as a DJ by blending mixes of nu jazz, hip hop instrumentals and acid jazz flavours reminiscent of Mark Farina's legendary series, Mushroom Jazz. 

He also launched the hugely successful "Soul Room Sessions" podcast showcasing the soulful and jazzy side of house music and downtempo beats with guest mixes from some of the biggest names in the game and the series is still going strong!

In 2017 Darius got his first taste of out of town gigging playing live shows all over the West Coast from his hometown in Vancouver, to San Francisco and Oakland.  Stay tuned for much more from him in the near future!
