What's shakin' funky people?!  We are back with Volume 207 of the series and we are thrilled to welcome a man who has been on fire lately with numerous heater releases, hailing from Fresno, California, we welcome Jason Merle to SRS!!

Hailing from The Tower District in Fresno CA, Jason Merle has been playing records since 1997. After
moving to the Bay Area to swim with the big fish, he began to produce and play with some of the incredible
DJ’s that saturate the scene in San Francisco and eventually moved back to Fresno where he continued his
rise until 2008.
Fast forward a decade after concentrating on fatherhood and he is back at it. Producing tracks and starting his
own label 4E&A Records, he is focused and passionate about learning and improving in the studio and playing
tracks that honor the past and create visions of the future. He may be a little less intoxicated this time around,
but he is just as dizzy in love with house as he was back in the day.

Soul Room Sessions Volume 207 | JASON MERLE | USA

What's shakin funky people?!  We are back with Volume 208 of the series and we welcome the super talented DJ/Producer from France, DJ Tchok to Soul Room Sessions!

Hailing from France, DJ Tchok's early musical background has a particularly divine influence. At the age of 11 he was tutored to play the piano by a priest!

As a result, he was naturally drawn to Gospel and Soul. However his love for music was by no means limited and also extended into Funk and electronic sounds.

At the age of 20, DJ Tchok launched his DJ career, providing eager ears with an eclectic mix of Drum and Bass, Funk, and Hip-Hop. A few years later saw him enter into the realms of House, particularly with a Deep House and Tribal House flavour.

To express all these influences that were close to his heart, DJ Tchok devoted a further 6 years to music production. The fruits of his labour can be found on 'InHouse', 'Greenhouse Recordings', 'Artefact Records', 'Cat in the attic', 'Far Down Records', 'Sheeva Records' and 'Manyoma Records".

Soul Room Sessions Volume 208 | DJ TCHOK | France

What's shakin funky people!?  We are back with Volume 209 of the series and we are thrilled to welcome our friend from Chile and super dope DJ/Producer MiNNt Edit to Soul Room Sessions!

Dj & house music producer from Viña del Mar. He introduced himself to the house music scene with his unique DJ sets on several renowned podcasts around the globe. After that, he launched his record label 'Spiritualized Music', which focused on the best of house & downtempo music. Then he started producing and founded his sounds on a wide spectrum that goes from deep house to soulful and underground house.

Soul Room Sessions Volume 209 | MINNT EDIT | Chile (FREE D/L)

What's shakin' funky people?!  We are back with Volume 211 of the series and we head to Amsterdam to welcome the duo Raw Underground to Soul Room Sessions!

Lukas and Jasper sharing their love for underground house music as Raw Underground.

Both guys musical roots stem from the rich Amsterdam underground dance music scene from the 90's. Dancing and dj-ing at places like the Mazzo and Roxy. Combine this with a strong fascination for the New York house music scene from the same era and you understand why they are always pushing for driving grooves and musical sustenance.

In the last few years the duo has been fortunate enough to work with an amazing selection of heroes and talent. From collaborating with French superstar Sebb Junior to remixing none other than Ron Carrol to being remixed by UK house diva Sam Divine.

The best is yet to come and they will keep on pushing their sound to playlists and stages around the world.

Playing other peoples music for other peoples enjoyment since 1993.

Darius is a self proclaimed "House Addict".  He fell in love with the house sound as a teenager living in Montreal back in the early '90s when he would stay up late on Friday nights and record a dance mix show on Montreal radio.  He was hooked from then on.  He then proceeded to start mixing with one tape deck and a CD player and never looked back.  

When he moved to Vancouver in the late '90's, he started buying records almost daily and spent most of his free time at his favourite record stores at the time, Bassix and Mekanix records.  Over the next few years, Darius held various residencies and ran 2 club nights in Vancouver, playing alongside such talent as Lawnchair Generals and Johnny Fiasco, as well as playing at numerous after hours and raves.   After getting tired of both the late nights and politics in the scene, he decided it was time to hang up the headphones in the early 2000s, but the love of house music still burned inside of him as the years passed. 

In 2013 he decided he wanted to get back into DJ'ing and purchased a basic Pioneer controller and started to collect digital tracks again.  Over the past few years Darius has been busy making a name for himself in the underground scene with numerous guest mix appearances around the world on such labels as House Salad, Reason2Funk, Uglyhouse, Little Routine, Selecta Music, Leven Underground and House Jet Radio just to name a few.  He also started the very popular "SPEED BUMPS" mix series which showcases his love for hip hop and jazz as he shows his versatility as a DJ by blending mixes of nu jazz, hip hop instrumentals and acid jazz flavours reminiscent of Mark Farina's legendary series, Mushroom Jazz. 

He also launched the hugely successful "Soul Room Sessions" podcast showcasing the soulful and jazzy side of house music and downtempo beats with guest mixes from some of the biggest names in the game and the series is still going strong!

In 2017 Darius got his first taste of out of town gigging playing live shows all over the West Coast from his hometown in Vancouver, to San Francisco and Oakland.  Stay tuned for much more from him in the near future!
