MALA HERBA is a solo project of sound artist and queer musicactivist Zosia Hołubowska. Based on traditional music, magic, and demonology of Eastern Europe, Mala Herba's performances are sonic rituals.The music draws from darkwave and minimal synth-wave but sometimes the melody cracks, the voice becomes a magic spell and the song transforms into a noise soundscape.Polyrhythmic pulsations are stacked on top layers of harsh noise and processed archival samples and then arpeggiated bass kicks in again and the music oscillates between haunted italo-disco andEBM. After being featured on compilations by labels such as DKA, Exilesand Total Solidarity by Oramics, Mala Herba released their debut LP "Demonologia" on [aufnahme+wiedergabe] in January 2021,followed by a digital EP "Omnia Vanitas" with two remixes and two covers on the same label.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Annechoic. This is a special edition mix in collaboration with Berlin's Krake Festival which is taking place this week from November 11 - 14. The annual fest has been an integral part of Berlin's event scene for several years, utilizing the cities diverse array of venues, clubs and talent. 

After last year's fully digital fest, Krake returns this year with a hybrid event - existing both virtually and IRL, with a massive club event happening on Friday at Anomalie Art Club with a huge lineup. Ahead of the festival's opening we are thrilled to present this special mix from the great Annechoic, showing off her electro-infused skill set and diverse sound selection. Her multifaceted work has made her travel in different scenarios, from electronic dance music to experimental music, transmedia arts and cultural management.
She is the founder and part of the management of the Latin American label / platform Fragment A.
Her work arises from experimentation and emotionality, with a cinematographic style without strictly defined genres, which oscillate between styles such as Techno, IDM, Electro and Ambient.

Velvet May is an italian and Berlin-based artist focusing on Electronic Body Music, post-punk and Techno textures. Owner of Tears On Waves imprint. His music is represented by aspects such as lust, erotism and pleasure and he does it in the stark drama of his living mind. There are no simplifications, everything is translated without polishings and shades, but with respect to his real essence.
Among his best known works we find those released on his own label "Tears on Waves" such as "Vast As Black Night", his best selling album "Unknown Bodies", whose homonymous track leaves a big mark and make his sound and textures better known, and his most recent "Phoebe's White Skin". After a break, he will soon release in October 2020 his fourth EP on his label in conjunction with the birth of some new romantic post-punk projects where we will see him in charge of the lyrics and voice.

Formerly one half of a live duo, Oliver emerged as a self-titled solo artist in 2016, an outlet for cold electronics conceived by London-based producer and DJ, @oliver_gibson. Oliver’s sonic interests lay in a non-purist approach, a resistance against convention. After teasing edits in his sets and a remix of R.L Crutchfield’s classic ‘No, Nothing, Never’ from Dark Day, Gibson made his debut in late 2020 with a 5-track ‘Knuckle Love’ EP on the Moralez run, @msqrecords including remixes by @flmmkr and Lander. His style is an intersection between Post-Punk, EBM, Darkwave, Industrial Techno and Rave. His session explores these and more, building up patiently over the mix. Lock in!
