Three days ago, on September 11th, Linval Carter a.k.a. Prince Jazzbo passed away at the age of 62. Today Dubbhism Deluxe releases a new Prince Jazzbo track. With mixed feelings, but also with a cause: we want to raise donations for the Prince Jazzbo Fund.

Earlier this year foundation dj and reggae producer Prince Jazzbo was diagnosed with lung cancer, and recently this disease weakened him very fast. That's when the wonderful Julie 'Zimma' White started the Prince Jazzbo Fund to help her friend. She was able to raise enough funds to improve Jazzbo's comfort level significantly during the final days of his battle with the disease. And many others also helped.

The preparations for 'What a Tribulation' actually started in January 2013. After the first bad news reached us, the project was quickly finished and all producers involved donated their tracks to the Prince Jazzbo Fund. The release was already set for September 14th when we heard the saddest news three days ago. We decided to proceed, hoping to raise extra funds. In Julie's words: "all funds will now go to help ensure that our Jazzbo has the best service that we can provide, and hope to make sure all of his children can be in attendance".

Not sure if it's the over-commercialization of everything, but I've been thinking about edits a lot lately. I used to make a ton of them and they were fun, but as they've become more and more the standard for what gets played out, I've more or less stopped making them.

When everything is an edit, what is the point. Do we really need another version of "My Neck, My Back"? Probably not, but here's two more. I feel like 'Some Edits & Shit' might add to that problem, but for me, it's really just turning a page and leaving some things behind.

Looking back, some of these are embarrassing, and some of them are really fucking cool. There is something to be said about allowing yourself to grow as a human while understanding that it is ok to come from a place. Even if that place feels embarrassing or alien years later. Maybe there was something interesting about the time or place or just the way I threw ideas together back then.

My only regret is not making a Creed edit. Maybe next time.

Born On Road return with another great FREE release, this time from dubwize breaks master Jinx In Dub! For this release Jinx In Dub teams up with MC Turner from Prague.

High and Low kicks off with a slow skank before the voice of Turner starts to creep into to range, everything cuts back before the bass drops and the journey begins. We’re treated to some amazing horns from the well known Sheffield reggae act Bison and a very dubby drop. As you would expect from Jinx In Dub he masters a great drum work out which would set off any dance floor off.

As if that wasn’t enough we have also commissioned two killer remixes from Jungle dons and some of Born On Road’s founders, Gold Dubs & Aries.

Gold Dubs drops a great 140BPM dance floor jungle rework with chopped up amens & chest shattering 808s while Aries ups the tempo to 175BPM and gives it his dubwise midas touch rounding this package off nicely!

The first single in the build up to the debut Unit 137 album has dropped! Hylu & Jago have teamed up with the multi talented vocalist Kosher, to bring you Pressure, a Ragga Jungle track full of thought provoking conscious lyrics and energy.

Hylu & Jago are an innovative DJ/MC production team, who work with various musicians & vocalists. Hylu & Jago’s live shows are always creative & versatile, flowing through genres seamlessly, spanning across Dub, Reggae, Jungle and much more.

This is Kosher’s debut release and sees her blend tough Ragga chats with soulful roots revival singing throughout. Kosher was born and raised in Hackney, East London, where she grew up surrounded by the rise of British dance music and Jamaican roots Reggae. Although this is her first release she is by no means a stranger to music. Kosher is a vocalist set to make waves in 2016 and beyond.

The original is complimented with a high-energy one-drop Reggae remix from the duo Ghost Writerz. This version features vocals from Jason ‘Jimmy Screech’ Bradshaw, which accompanies and compliments Kosher’s original vocal performance beautifully.

Really diggin the original track and often spinned it live. Found the stems on my hd and decided to give it a try to pitch the tempo to 175 bpm and with a little effort it sounds not too bad (coming from 134 bpm..)
