Track Trivia:
--- This was for an idea that I had which was basically "what if I did 'underfellproject', but instead of only using original melodies I only use one soundfont?" I really only made this one track because I don't think I can ever do another UFP lol xP.
--- The Heartache breakdown was supposed to embody a feeling that the Heartache melody was being held in throughout the whole song, but eventually just spilled out in a wave of emotions for Asgore.
--- This is technically an Underswap track, but it kind of just feels like a oblique ASGORE arrangement.

MERCY

At last, one of the most expected tracks of this soundtrack. This one is also the one with most storytelling, as the structure and leitmotifs used are a narration of the battle and Asgore's thoughts throughout it:

The song consists of three main sections and two breaks in between each. Section A contains both Asgore's and the underground's motif, representing his duties as a king and what he feels he owes to his people. Everyone's hopes are on him, and that adds to his pressure. Section B contains Toriel's and Memory's motifs, representing everything he lost and how he still remembers his family after all this time. Section C contains a distorted version of the OUAT motif, representing the moment when his heart was filled with hate and anger towards humans, and even though his anger is not there anymore, he forces himself to remember to be able to fight Frisk. And the breaks and slow rhythm overall signify how reluctant Asgore is to fight.

Personally I have conflicted thoughts with this one. If you've tried modding the game to include some tracks, you'll notice that many "timed" events like Bergentruckung have use code to match certain things with the original songs, and since many of the Alternate songs have different times and stuff, this results on these tracks not lining up with the in-game events. 

To avoid this with Finale, which is one of the clearest examples of what I mean, I made it using sort of the same structure and BPM of the original. While in-game this works much better, I feel like it was very restrictive and that I could have done something more original with this one. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy.
