I produced Spaceforest while I was traveling through New Zealand.
Out there, far away from my old life, I felt more free than ever – like I was walking through a dark forest with a completely open sky above me.

There’s a distorted vocal running through this track, repeating one single line:
“lose my mind”.

At first I didn’t understand why I was so drawn to that phrase. It sounded dark and heavy, but it resonated so deeply that I kept building the whole track around it.

Only later I realized what it really meant to me.
It wasn’t about going crazy or breaking down.
It was about letting go of my old mind – my past experiences, expectations, fears and prejudices – so I could step into a new chapter with an open one.

That’s why the sound of Spaceforest is dark, progressive and a bit melancholic, but at the same time strangely liberating. It reflects my inner world and the contrast that inspires me the most:
shadow and light, weight and freedom, forest and space.
