Broken Mind – Wasteland II 

A good four years down the line Broken Mind opens the second chapter of its account of the Wasteland. Nine tracks around the 5-minute-mark take you on a ride through the barren landscapes of urban outskirts and industrial estates: Thick and impermeable clouds of dark ambience, devoid of rhythm, melody - or of light - embrace the listener, like a soundtrack of descent, into concrete bunkers infested with a mouldy stench. 
The all-encompassing sinister flow is then diverted through sick rhythms by two remixes from Wasteland I: A slow, pounding metallic kick is added by Panic Scenery, and Broken Mind alter ego Paranoid Movement brings in irregular halfstep bass throbs, only adding to the netherworldly atmosphere of this remarkably concise album.

To celebrate 21 years of the AIU doing underground events in Los angeles I recorded this mix. If any of you remember the audio asylum events that happened on the first Friday of every month in LA. Then you might have heard me play some deathchant there.

Everyone in the crew has recorded mixes of the styles that they would play at these events to honor the 21 year anniversary,and these mixes will be available for download at some point today. I will post that link when it's ready. 
But until then here is a new tribute mix to the mad man Julian Cobb aka hellfish that I recorded for this anniversary.

This is my way of celebrating all the years of audio asylum. Big respect to the AIU crew. 
Especially  Jerimie Geppi aka dj majesty and Hector Garcia aka dj arcade for all the time and hard work they put into giving LA these events.
