The Great Hoax return in 2013 with a brand new 7 track ep 'Dark Matter' an experimental new batch of songs, that sounds like:'Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart' meeting Nine Inch Nails'- Nick Swanson 'The Great Hoax'.
Dark Matter is the most original batch of composotiions possibily ever!, combining elements of Jazz, hip hop, trip hop,rock, blues, noise, and mild country groaning.
 
a lot of The chord arrangements were arranged 'blindfolded'' meaning the chords were arranged by 'hitting all the notes' your not supposed to and the lead on songs such as
 
'Bubblewrap Universe' and 'Hoz and Reality Showz' was not even rehearsed, as the notes hit 'make no musical sense what so ever' to make an industrail nine inch nail'ish sound.'
