Unreal Lincoln is redefining the sound of melancholy with “Hate Letter”, the first single from his upcoming
EP, “Bipolar”. Where you would anticipate sluggish, heart-rending pianos, you are instead bombarded by
the most haunting chords you will hear all week. Where you would anticipate a tragic drum pattern,
frosted by soft kicks and the coldest of snares, you are instead lit ablaze by a scorching 808 and fiery,
modern-trap rhythm. All the while, Unreal Lincoln is delivering a rave-worthy onslaught of autotuned
melodies. Despite baring his heart on this record, this South African artist sheds no tears on “Hate Letter”.
The Port Elizabeth resident is vengeful, alternatively; channeling his misery, contempt and heartbreak into
an unyielding musical resolve. The sort of resolve that would inspire a moshpit if performed for the right
crowd in the right venue. Such speaks to the captivation of Lincoln’s organic display of emotion on “Hate
Letter”. He bypasses the typical trope of “melancholic music” and opts to create something that more
accurately reflects his personal woe. That sort of ingenuity and appreciation for the power of music will
make “Bipolar” worth while when it drops; and Unreal Lincoln an international talent to keep in mind.

The song represents struggles and what lyricist Mia Liyah had to overcome to live out her purpose of being great.
Icon resonates positivism, self empowerment, belief in oneself, the most beautiful thing next to believing in others.
From the first listen, when the beat was presented unto her, the lyrics were already forming in her mind and was screaming ICON, says the lyricist. All she had to do was express it over the microphone.

"Highlights" is the single off of the "Bipolar" EP produced by Unreal Lincoln.  Each verse in the song is filled with references to media and artists, paying homage in concept to the song "Star" by Brockhampton. The track is 2 verses long that states the confidence within Lincoln in becoming the greatest and "making all the highlights". 

The song also entails the desire and strive of Lincoln to become famous. Each reference to something in the Media's eye expresses characteristics and traits that are in the grasp of becoming a superstar in the eyes of other people.
