About the EP:
Quite an intimate affair, including never-ending, quietly listening jams on the verge of a dance floor and a chillout room - somber yet including a few secretly ecstatic moments. With sneaky kick drums, ringing bells, chirping birds and the smell of spores opening, the atmosphere here is quite dense, at times relentless, yet empathetic at the core. The EP comes from a classically trained painter and a tattoo artist, Stereometrix, who sets up a rather idiosyncratic set of visual and acoustic references. He's part of Penumbrum, a Warsaw night and label uniting like-minded artists from western Ukraine and Belarus, building a city within a city.

White Scar returns with "The Witch's Fingers". Introducing 4 new producers to the label. 

The A1 is by Jucid from South Korea with a deep and progressive journey called "Essential to our Life". "Are You Neutralised?" asks Leeds based Zuul in his signature melodic techno style on the A2.

B1 continues the pace with "Electro Samurai" by the talented Argentinean born, now Berlin based, Desiree Falessi. Last but not least on the B2 is the first released track by unknown producer, Boheme. "Spiral" closes out this EP perfectly with its swirling and catchy melody.

Opening with grace and gleaming material, « Illusion Day » is an ode to glittering future. The subtle tinkling synth loop, grainy guitar-like riff set the scene, a landscape of on old Eastwood’s western giving a first glimpse at Alpine DJ’s vintage aesthetics.
« Illusion Day » is a warm and friendly welcome into the whole EP, with this sweet dim-light infused vocal drawn from the post-disco hit of British trio Imagination, suavity of a refined echo and an end-of-day promise upon the ochre desert.  
Rooted in old school house and trivial synths, the first build-up heralds the groundwork of the whole EP : a singular mix of catchy sonorities, a skillful blend of instruments showing the producer’s ability to craft both fresh, contemporary and nineties inspired tracks.

Australian producer Roza Terenzi is next on Dekmantel with a quasi-cosmic, tropospheric slab of deep rave. The blend of breakbeats, distorted rhythms, and quirky yet sublime analog melodies evoke the senses, making this an exciting label debut from one of the underground’s rapidly rising stars. 

'Let’s Ride' kicks of with '3.I.Y.', a track that initially reverberates and tweaks, as if crashing in from outer space. 'Bricks' slows the tempo down, and adds larger degrees of space, with a 110bpm chilled out timbre, and a wispy-palette. 'Freak N Tweak' is another slice where the mood cuts gently between ambient bliss, and analogically synthesised, percussive electro - like a downtempo, cerebral take on classic electronica. The EP’s closer 'Open Me' takes the music back to full rave-speed, with layers of classic-era breakbeats and vintage sounding keys, all manifesting itself in Terenzi’s contemporary take on pulsing, esoteric dancefloor rhythms.

Long out of press, Helium’s seminal 1993 masterpiece ’The Works’ E.P. eventually sees the light of day again on Kalahari Oyster Cult. A head-turning slab of visionary house and trance music, ’The Works’ hasn’t aged one bit and its dancefloor appeal sure hasn’t lost any of its high-impact melodic beauty. Driven by the subs-towed harmonics of the wistful ‘Out There’ and fun-loving cowbell rides meet gut-churning 909 kicks of ’Try Me’.

3 unreleased mixes that have nothing to envy to the originals have been unearthed: If ’Try Me (More Mix)’ does exactly what’s written on the tin, i.e. expanding the scope to further spacious, ambient-informed horizons, ‘Clouds (Captain’s Mix)’ opts for a more abstract, ASMR-like rendition, while ‘Out There (Jody’s Mix)’ reels out as a proper hypnotic, sense-awakening comber that’ll send off dancers straight into a blissed-out daze.

Helium’s classic is now back in fully remastered shape (OYSTER20.1) and supplemented by a triplet of unreleased remixes (OYSTER20.2), available both independently and as a bundle 2x12" pack (OYSTER20) exclusively via One Eye Witness and Bandcamp.
