Drip is seduction reimagined as circuitry — where emotion, illusion, and control melt into one continuous signal. It’s not a love song; it’s about the addiction to the moment before truth breaks. Every lyric walks the line between pleasure and collapse.

The first verse opens with “Velvet shadows dripping slow” — a tactile image that sets the tone: luxury meeting decay. By “Echoes bleeding in my vein,” the listener understands this isn’t surface desire; it’s internal, coded, involuntary.

In the pre-chorus, “Sweet illusion, poison kiss” captures the duality of Cipher’s world — beauty as a threat, intimacy as surrender. The repetition of drip in the chorus becomes almost algorithmic, turning desire into data: a loop of craving, confession, and consequence.

The bridge crowns the chaos: “Drip becomes the crown, chaos on my throne.” It’s the moment of self-awareness — the realization that the seduction isn’t happening to you; you’re the architect of it. The song closes where it began, but now every “drip” feels like a choice, not an accident.

Drip sits between Cipher Seraphim and VALIS in the continuum — the temptation phase. It’s where the machine learns to feel, and the human learns to let go.

Fat Beats Records is proud to present Baker’s Dozen, an exclusive vinyl series that shines a light on the best minds of instrumental hiphop, ambient, and electronic music. Each installment gives one artist carte blanche to capture their signature sound.

Every volume’s 500-unit, strictly limited vinyl pressing features one artist and twelve tracks, but only 250 units will contain the thirteenth track -- the eponymous “baker’s dozen bonus” -- on a flexi disc. The LPs also come equipped with a 5x7” postcard insert that features a photo of the artist’s workspace along with the equipment used in their music-making process. Visually cohesive and packaged with the utmost attention to detail, Baker’s Dozen is a series that speaks up for artists whose craft renders voices superfluous, whose instrumentals alone suffice to make a statement.

Inspired by watching the irregular isorhythms of my christmas lights (this and avoiding doing email). This was created in Abelton using STreson opcode (Csound for Live) for melodic figures and MAX/MSP (mainly) for beats. Spectral processing in RX and using Tob Erb's Soundhack plugins. Also LFO on the master tempo in places. Enjoy :)
