Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave label has been busy laying down foundations for the past twelve months. The run-away commercial success of their debut single “We Do What We Want” was just the start, and have since been setting the standards.

The label boss himself makes his welcome return to the label this October, with Magnetic Dog. The original comes laced with slicing hats, crispy yet superbly deep thundering kicks and a cheeky dose of acid thrown in for good measure.

Alan wrote the original back in 2016 and waited for that special remix to finalise the package. Always a supporter of Marcus Intalex and his productions, under his Trevino moniker he delivered a masterfully deep rework, taking down the tempo and achieving a euphoric cut of the original.

The new Intec release is from Frank Mitchell aka Frankie Bones who is an American based DJ and producer whose played a large role in New Yorks Techno scene. Having been involved in music since the mid 80s, Frankie Bones was one of the first DJs from New Yorks Brooklyn region to gain global success. By the late 80s Frankie Bones was getting regular European bookings following the success of his Bonesbreaks EP series, which released on Underworld Records received global recognition and critical acclaim. During his three decade spanning career Frankie Bones has even released an EP on the iconic Trax Records, which released many of the early records that defined the House and Techno genre. One of his most popular releases was his 1989 release titled Call It Techno which originally came out on Breaking Bones Records, and a firm Carl Cox favourite has now been remastered and rereleased for this special Intec package, which also features one of his new and previously unreleased tracks. Also featuring on the release are two new remix versions provided by Carlo Lio and Raito who each put their individual stamp on things. Carlo Lio is an artist who in between global DJ bookings, has released music on labels including Octopus, SCI+TEC, Turbo, Mood, and Saved Records. French artist Raito is fast rising through the ranks following regular releases Boysnoize Records, along with having also featured on Mako, Origami Sound, Main Course and BNR TRAX. "Call It Techno" has a timeless bass line taken straight from the glory days of Acid House. Filled with retro charm and warehouse party vibes, the vocal tells the story of Technos history, and the pads plus melody are rich in analogue joy. Carlo Lio's remix of "Call It Techno" uses choice snippets of the originals vocal to refine the story it into a powerful chant. This remix is fast and furious with added tension and suspense. Carlo adds his own toughened backing track thats filled with dark atmosphere plus an explosive drop after the main break. Raito's remix of has a bumping groove and stomping kick drum. Thick and chunky, it takes no prisoners with its hard hitting percussion and stabbing sounds. Jacking in every sense of the word, it's summed up nicely by the vocal lyrics "hits you in the face like a hammer! Second of the two original track is "Light It Up" which takes its title from the lyrics of the vocal sample. With spin backs and filter sweeps, the tracks forward momentum is accentuated by a series of bass drops. Lead by the building intensity of a bubbling acid line, the tracks rolling groove is a sure fire party starter. The fifth and final track is a dub mix of Light it up, which with the main vocal removed, focuses on the music only.

After making his debut on the very first Prospekt EP two short years ago, we are proud to have Gary Burrows as part of the Respekt family, and to welcome him back for his fourth outing on the label.
'Something You Need' is classic Burrows, with a rave-inspired riff and bassline married to a classic vocal snippet and pummelling drums. Hungarian duo Steam Shape take on the mantle of remixing the beast, and do so with acidic aplomb.
Track two is another vocal led cut in the form of 'Keep On'. Slightly (but only slightly!) more laid back than the A-side, this one brings in lush pads to add another layer to the formula. The second remix comes courtesy of Luca De-Santo, who whizzes up the parts with some nasty saw riffs and sharp percussion.

It’s a remix of Demonic Dimensions but has been slowed down to the original version. I haven’t seen this video uploaded anywhere and I think the slower version that she played is a lot better!

Music has always been at the forefront of his mind, and now Darmec has turned his love and passion into a profession.

Just a few years after discovering techno, Stuart decided to start producing his own tracks in late 2011, and it didn’t take long for him to get hooked. Inspired by the elite artists in the scene, he always aims to create intense atmosphere, energy and euphoria in his music; while consistently delivering those signature driving basslines.

To begin producing at the age of 26, you could say Stuart was a late starter – but he is well on his way to making up for lost time. Going from strength to strength, he is now releasing on a number of well-respected labels – including Techburst Records, Hydraulix, Ragnarok Berlin, Eclipse Recordings, Dolma Rec and also his own label Blue Monkey Records. 

Anyone familiar with the Beatport Hard Techno Chart will know Darmec well, with his tracks consistently making the top 10 - including no less than 9 number 1 hits. He also reached the top spot of the release chart with his first album ‘Direction Of Complexity' and also his joint LP with Dario Sorano; 'Black Ice'.

He has also proven his hand as a remixer, making the most of opportunities to remix tracks by esteemed artists such as Alberto Ruiz, Axel Karakasis, Eric Sneo, Mark Sherry, Gayle San, Pappenheimer, Frank Kvitta and A Paul.

Taking another step forward, he launched his own record label 'Blue Monkey Records' in June 2017, which has already received glowing feedback from some high profile names.

Notable landmarks have come along the way for Darmec, none less than having his tracks played by the likes of UMEK, Deadmau5, Sander Van Doorn, Eddie Halliwell, Spartaque, Ben Nicky & Mark Sherry, and also the somewhat unexpected support of Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, who played the track ‘Fashion’ in his warm-up DJ set on their Delta Machine Tour 2013/2014 to packed out stadiums around the world.

Darmec is now making his name on the DJ circuit and relishing the opportunity to perform to live audiences. Delivering his brand of dark, high-energy techno to crowds in countries such as Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Switzerland, Bosnia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Slovakia and the UK; Darmec is gradually growing into a prominent figure in the techno scene.
