This song is dedicated to my best friend, whose birthday is today. It's BPM is '114', hinting at the release date and birthday of my friend. The length is related to the date too (hint: it's a basic mathematical concept).

Despite being quite different to my usual style and to the other songs included on the EP, "It Takes Time" came along very quickly. 

It started out as a test, as I desperately wanted to try and use the 30 year old tape deck of my dad. I came up with some chords, and sent them through the tape deck, which ended up being the intro to the song. The drums have a four over the floor beat, which was influenced by the vast amounts of German techno I had heard previous to making "It Takes Time".

This might quite possibly be my favorite track on the EP. 

I woke up in the middle of the night, thinking to myself that "Discovery" would be a suitable name for my EP. However, when I started working on ideas for the title track, nothing seemed to quite work out. So I decided to challenge myself and sample something in my kitchen and turn it into a pluck. I ended up filling a cognac glass with water, until it sounded somewhat close to a B note, and then hit it with a mallet. This is what I ended up using as a starting point for "Discovery".
