The song describes the girl as a "smooth operator", because she finds ways to get ahead and doesn't let the haters get in her way. It's a warning to everyone that knows her, "You don't know what you think you know about this girl."

Daron YuLeslie Perrier is a Jamaican-born singer and songwriter living in Brooklyn, New York. It was at the age of 15 he realized his passion for singing and developed the persona Daron Vande. At first, Vande stuck to his roots by creating dancehall reggae music. As he became more immersed in the American culture, he adapted musical genres such as R&B and pop. 
After graduating high school, he enrolled in Medgar Evers College but quickly realized that a career in computer science was not for him. Vande removed himself from classes, and began actively pursuing his music career while maintaining a full-time job. 
In 2014, Vande was introduced to music from international artists like Dbanj, Runtown, Wizkid and Ice Prince. He easily developed a love for Afrobeats and was inspired to change his sound. During the course of one week, Vande wrote six new songs including his latest single, “Waste Time.” The catchy tune caught the attention of DJ's and executives at Hot97, and on Monday, Aug 14 Vande performed at their Who's Next Caribbean Showcase at SOB's, NY.
Currently, Vande is working with a new team on rebranding and hopes to have his EP completed by January 2018.
