 Directed by Gina Moxley, written and performed by Susan Boyle, and taking place in a wine bar, “A Wine Goose Chase” is an hour long theatrical experience, part wine-tasting, part one-woman show, that makes its debut as part of ABSOLUT Fringe 2012.

Story background: In the 17th century more than 200 Irish families moved to Bordeaux and changed the wine industry. The names of these 'Wine Geese' who fled Ireland, including the Phelans, the Bartons and the Lynchs, can still be seen today on some of the world's most desired bottles of wine.

But why did they leave Ireland for France? And how did Irish people go on to influence wine-making in Europe and across the globe?

Intertwining this fascinating history with personal experiences of the contemporary wine world, this performance will showcase a fresh, unfussy approach to wine and storytelling while indulging in some interactive wine tasting!
