O produtor e dj Josh Smith, nascido no leste de Londres e criado em Essex, produz música e djing desde 2016.

Nos primeiros anos de descoberta da música eletrônica, seu estilo e gosto eram mais sombrios e rápidos, com Tech-House e Techno sendo a primeira influência real e porta de entrada para a cena underground.

Josh iria lançar seu primeiro EP 'Melodic Grooves' com a Antarctic Records no mesmo ano de 2016.

Nos anos mais recentes, Josh gravitou em direção ao som de Rominimal e Microhouse. Definitivamente favorecendo os tons e energias intimistas do leste europeu.

Josh lançou discos com The Lab Records, Whoystro Ltd, Tanapa Records, Microgarden Lab e Miaw, para citar alguns.

Em 2021, ele garantiu sua primeira residência com a nova marca 'Select Sounds', atualmente é onde você pode vê-lo mostrando suas habilidades de som e mixagem.

East London born and Essex raised producer & dj Josh Smith has been producing music and djing since 2016.

Early years in discovering electronic music his style and taste was darker and faster paced with Tech-House and Techno being the first real influence and gateway into the underground scene.

Josh would go onto release his first EP ‘Melodic Grooves’ with Antarctic Records the same year of 2016.

In more recent years Josh has gravitated towards more of the Rominimal and Microhouse sound. Definitely favouring the eastern european intimate tones and energies.

Josh has gone onto release records with The Lab Records, Whoystro Ltd, Tanapa Records, Microgarden Lab, and Miaw to name a few.

In 2021 he secured his first residency with the up and coming brand ‘Select Sounds’ this is currently where you can catch him showcasing his sound and mixing abilities.

The music for this split EP was written by two artists - Shyam, founder and owner of Simple Things Records and Quazee, a talented musician and part of Simple Things Family. Their tracks have been already released on the label, both on vinyl and in the digital version. The music for Totem EP is very “volumetric”. Atmospheric in its depth, even with some notes of hardness.
